Y should we all have 2 listen 2 moaning and complaining from all u guys who thinks Prince owes u something just bcause u r a npgmc member? Fair enough u pay ur money, u expect 2 get value 4 it, but lets b honest, u aint paying 2 have Prince himself write u letters, mail u cds, kiss ur damm butts!!! I just wanna let u know that I AM pleased with the club, im a member and i pay my money and 4 the amount i pay i get a good service. I get cds, i get freindly helpful replies from the club and i get in4ormation via the site! so i dont have a problem with it at all and 4 some people 2 say that those so called "cryptic" messages r crap i say this, he who has ears 2 hear let him hear! people stop expecting a meal ticket from Prince, in reality its staff who run it not him personally and when u stop 2 think about it dont u think that every company in the world always makes mistakes, always does things which arent customer friendly and always causes some1 offence!!! The club is doing well, im happy with it, many friends of mine r happy with it and many more r gonna join it...a kingdom divided will alwyas fall, lets try 2 support the artist and his endeavours rather than try 2 become part of the detractor which works against him...more than 1 is a couple, more than 2 is trouble

Y do we have 2 listen 2 U,moaning about us,moaning about the poor service and bad value for money that being a member of the NPGMC truly is.

Its just Ur opinion pal so dont go slagging people 4 having a different opinion 2 U.

Not all of us feel the same way, even when we disagree with the club's handling of new CD announcements.
I, for one, will wait until Feb 2003 (and have made this known )before i decide if the club has done what it said it would do, but i would appreciate a little more info from the npgmc on release dates and such.

I'll tell ya why u should listen to us...because u are being brainwashed and need to snap out of this rose-coloured glasses image you have of Prince or atleast his latest venture.

Put yourself in my shoes :-

1)Year 1 you join up and pay $100 under the impression that teh promised WORLD tour was gonna take place and I,living in the UK, would more than likely get to see Prince and get good seats...the tour didnt happen.

2) Suddenly afer the first month things start to go down hill and teh NPGMC start to slip in tracks that have already been released on CD and video and then,mysteriously,there start to be months when there are no videos at all. This continues right up until Jan 02 when it is time to rejoin again...then we get loads of stuff.

3) I didnt receive Rave in2 and they stop just short of calling me a liar when,in December,I wrote yet another letter asking where my copy was...still waiting?

Thats just year 1...I cant complain too much this year because I havent had anything for my $100 to complain about yet.

Now do you think that people like me are being unreasonable to bring up such issues...is so I suggest you back up your Prince shrine and move to a country with a dictatorship...you'll like it there!!!

actually, i would be satisfied with good customer service. something which hasn't been given NPGMC members this year.

it chuffs me that prince is so "support my cause! support me!" and doesn't even have the COMMON COURTESY to respect the people who care enough to become members. and, as if THAT weren't bad enough, there are folks like YOU adding insult to injury. . .

Its getting easier 2 tell which posts are really the same person just attempting to Whip up the Masses by dreaming up new ways to try to antagonize NPGMC customers with the ole "why are u bitching and moaning thread"

But for the most part the trends are obvious 2 all. I find it hard 2 believe so many golden calf worshippers and religious fanatics would get so collectively upset by simple and justified consumer alarm at this point.

In closing.. Watching NPGMC trying to answer these emails and respond to the mess that they are in is like watching "a monkey trying to fuck a football."

Donnie - Im so pleased for you that you have had great experiences with the club (and Im not being sarcastic). I dont think its a case of not supporting the club being unfashionable - I just think there are a lot of people who have had bad experiences and a lot of people (maybe not as many) who refuse to beleive that anything Prince odes can be bad and therefore 'nay-sayers' must be lying.

If I was in your position I too would be really chuffed and speak out to defend the club

If you were in my position I expect you might be a bit miffed too:

Trouble getting my copy of Rave in2 from year 1

Charged twice for Year 1 and had to fight for my $$$ back

Missing out on the concert perks and then getting 'teased' by Prince about it - "Join the club" and " I have to leave now to take my friends to a party...they joined the club"

And for EVERY problem Ive had I veeither never had a straight reply,got a cryptic message or told there is no further info they can give me.


The club quite obviously works because many people are having a great time but there are some people who are havinga real bummer - Im somewhere in betwen because Ive come to terms with the fact that they see themselves as a business and not the warmhearted 'Fam' club that they billed themselves to be;

I guarantee that members will not get the live CD until Decemberish and with it will be something extra to encourage you to join up for year 3. They did it at the end of year 1...the content was going downhill until January but suddenly improved at renewal time...they arent stupid thats for sure.

i can fully understand that the club isnt 100% for every member! i appreciate the problems people have and they r fully justified. My point is that we r all supporters/fans of Prince and we should b the ones doing r best 2 bring positivity 2 the situation. All of u who have a negative experience of Prince/NPGMC need 2 realise that 4 evrey 1 bad compaint some1 else has a postive response about the club... if ur free 2 moan im free 2 praise, my experince of the npgmc is very positive and im completley satisfied with it, even though i aint recieved any cds etc yet, but im not so without other things 2 occupy my time that i need 2 b glued 2 my mailbox 24/7! i appreciate every1s problems with the club are due 2 poor customer satisfaction but no 1 is perfect and we r all human. I dont mean 2 stir up any ill feeling im just very positive about the club and its aims, endeavours and long term plans... who cares if we are controlling all the oil? is it worth a child dying 4?

There is no way on this Earth, that anybody can seriously say, that NPGMC provides good customer service. If that side of things isn't worth complaining about, I don't know what is.

Childofthedawn - I think its great that you are enjoying being a member and it just goes to show that the club really does work for some people 100% whereas,for others,it is a total failure which is why we have the big bust ups on here and why the views are so differnt.

To be honest,and im sure all people with NPGMC problems will agree,its not so much the problems themselves that people mind but more the fact that,when you do mention them to the customer services dept (for want of a better word) you either get no reply or a cryptic/blunt message that may as well read "go screw yourself"

I experenced it within the first 2 months of Year 1 - I was charged twice for my membership and,at first they simply refused to respond to me and it wasnt until I wrote a jumped up letter about court action that they wrote a very brief email asking me to prove it. Eventually I got my refund but that wasnt teh end of my probs - I've told the story a million times so I'll make it short ...Rave in2 never arrived and a kept writing and writing but heard nothing until one day they aknowledged that I had written several times and implied that I must be lying because all the copies had gone out.

Now,those are just 2 bad situations and,im sure no one can argue,they are pretty basic parts of the club that should be dealt with easily. Had i received basic courtesy instead of just being ignored (which was obvious as they aknowledged my emails had been reeceived) my impression of the club would be much better.

This thing could work so well if they took care of everyone instead of just a select few or those who arent prepared to speak out. I often wonder if they didnt send my copy because of the double membership letter - guess I'll never know.

A word of advice - those of you who joined up a bit later this year and havent received ONA yet...keep on at them because you dont want to fall into my situation...and they cant screw you all over if everyone writes...it would be too obvious.

purple, u speak with a certain amount of grace and sense and i appreciate ur thoughts on this topic. Its so sad 2 hear that u have had these problems, indeed its sad that ay1 has problems with with club ( i still dont and will always try and promote positivity about it!) but i do take on board poeples genuine greviances, mayb we should all study the new commentary on npgmc web site, its very in4ormative and i think it spells out the vision of what the club aspires 2 b and will , in my opinon, will attain
