If it is Prince's intention 2 relaunch the same, or a renewed website, it would be wild if he just had "Stay Tuned..." on the 3121.com page.

I dont think so..if he put "Stay Tuned", it would be viewed as the new "Something BIG is coming", or his infamous "Coming soon"..

Saying nothing, leaves no expectations. I think he's learned better than to put us on excitement saying that something is coming.

what i don't understand is why there always has to be so much
build-up of expectation with these things. prince tells us to

and i think it's about time a decent download store opened up
on his official site.

hell no, just open it up and throw 2 dozen tunes into it the
first day it's online. no xpectation, no build up, just some
new material to download and enjoy.

heck, old or new, remixed or alternate, live or studio, i'll
pick up any and everything he'd release thru such means.

my guess tho, is that there'll just be a new site with a new
retail section offering babydolls and perhaps the NEW POWER
PACKAGE for 3,99

Isn't it just typical that major fansites get C&D orders or whatever they were. A hullaballoo is created around Prince wanting control of his images etc online...

He wants to make his official site the only source for Prince music and stuff online...

He starts to make tracks available each week - ok they were in the main previously available from the Reflection Room, but at least the intent was there...

Then...

Switch the lights out on the official site with no word of warning or what's to come next.

I never cease to be amazed, yet at the same time it's all so familiar and yet like the drug he knows he is, we're all here checking the org and the 3121 homepage for the teaser that's bound to come. I remember the whale/dolphin video from before.

What's around the corner this time?!

Nope, I believe that 3121.com is over. I wouldn't be surprised if Prince didn't surface online again for a few months at least. It's a good time for him to take stock, sort things out, get centered and pace himself.

Maybe it has really happened this time.

Maybe Prince has retired from the music business.

I thought he was going to retire and travel and study the bible this year anyway.

Maybe P.F.U.N.K. was his way of saying "goodbye."

I reckon he's probably kicking back, organising something if he ever has a spare min laughing at the speculation on the fan sites(if he doesn't look himself then laughing at what an assistant has said is being said but I reckon he looks) and then he didn't do owt on NYE as that was predictable and thats the last thing Prince would want to be. He'll be back, looking forward to it Don't know if www.3121.com will survive though, wonder what the next domain name will be...

I find his actions regarding the web, esp his site to be of poor judgement. He actually had a great site with the npg music club. he should have simply changed the name of the website and kept everything as it was. ALL incarnations since have been pretty poorly done.

hes not gone just a glitch probably over the name.

has no-one advised him that he can keep the name but link and launch on another server under a new name????? he seems very ill-advised these days

anyhow i reckon a new site will emerge. they were doing jam of the week and promising a retail section so i would guess either he knew nothin about it (ie his flunkies were off rogue again) , found out and went CRAZY an shut it down or he didnt like the look of the new site last minute and went CRAZY and shut it down!!! lol

we havent seen the last of him and to all the newbies he aint old at 50 hes just gettin started!

i began to get a bit obsessive about the whole 3121 website going down thing - as lame as that sounds (you agree? - thanks)

anyway, I noticed a difference in the source code (html)

about a week ago it was simple - black page no other instruction

then a couple of days ago there was some code which related to tracking, my guess is someone was monitoring the amount of peeps visiting - fair enough I thought

but then looking at it again today, the tracking code has been removed and the html instruction is simply to display a black page again

all very interesting, well if you are a geek like me

im just bummed cause i was enjoying my weekly dose of jam of the week
