Im on these sites all the time ..pretty much daily..and I NEVER EVER see Prince promoting any charity developments..I know they exist..but , they always linger "in the back of my mind" as things i have heard about but never really materialized into any ongoing sorta thing... *from a decade ago..!!! 
The timing of this 100% looks like Prince (or his people) doing RAPID damage control... SAD !  | |

I've always admired that Prince has been one of those rare celebrities who gives and contributes to charity behind the scenes and doesn't grandstand for media attention. ----- The Urban Farming project has been mentioned before in the media and the coat giveaways he did back in the 90's. Outside of that he is usually pretty quite about what he is up to charity wise but, he is going to take a pounding from the media which has already turned this into "lawsuit agaisnt fans" when no lawsuits have been filed. Nothing wrong with using his website to show his good side. | |

I'm not calling out Prince on what he's currently got going on. This isn't all that new either. Remember when he did the cease and decist thing to a bunch of Prince related sites and then tried to bring a bunch of people in to work on his site? However, Prince has been known to be very controlling when it comes to his image (You work for Prince, you sign a non-disclosure agreement), the media, and his music. For those of us really into his music, we learn the ups and downs of his output and the experiences of those who play with him. Some of the stories are shocking, but also interesting. Some people see the 3121 post as damage control. So what if it is? So what if it was (in effect) Prince saying " Uh, don't act like I don't give a s**** about anybody!" I'm one of those "from the very beginning" fans, and it IS hard not to pass judgement on him with this situation. I'm personally going to NOT judge him, and hope that because this has generated world-wide news and interest, the Man MAY choose to speak and clear this up himself. Eye don't think it has ever been in question...Prince being selfish. Eye truly got an understanding 4 it when eye saw him receive an honorary award at the NAACP awards, eye had read a lot about him but it seems that any charity work is behind the scenes as if he cares not 4 the publicity but simply helps bcause he cares! Prince donated $ 2 charities? I'd like 2 think that this was done with the $ that I donated $ 2 charity cases, such as, New Power Soul, Emancipation, Rave, and 1999 The New Masters!
I also think that it is because of fans like us that he has a cent 2 his name. As far as I'm concerned his fans r his bosses. We pay his bills. And if he keeps treating his fans like shit...he will b fired! | |

My family benefits from a work of charity Prince created. And I give back to his "causes". The school in Viet Nam was one of 9 choices listed online. I had to do a lot of research and it didn't happen to be in the two I chose. My point is, Prince runs an empire of creativity and gives to those causes he deems worthy, publicizes many others. I have been reading alot of posts on this, and i have to ask myself, how can they claim to be Prince fans while writing bad things about him? I too have found some songs he has done i do not care for, however, i am a true fan and regardless, i think he is the most talented, sexy and creative artist.
