Bullshit. You and I were both aware of the market value.
You may even know what I paid without much trouble.

If you're IP banned from housequake just go to hidemyass.com or use an IP address changer and you can view and post all you want.

Good question about why didn't we make that move in the first place ?

You have to understand the backdrop to all this in that we'd been receiving demands from the NPG team on an almost daily basis for things such as headers, photos that Prince didn't like, statements made on the website, etc.

The O2 photo removal originally did not come as a request, it came as a legal threat. We then very politely pointed out that there is no legal reason for HQ to remove them, however we were concerned at the huge amount of "one way traffic" we were experience. For example, the org have had exactly the same "offensive" images (the 18 year old street pictures with P in an afro) yet had not received any request. NPG refused to admit that they were asking for moral reasons and not for legal reasons and the whole thing became a major issue.

We then polled the members to ask what they thought and we got a very firm "do not remove them" back. At this point, the NPG team I feel recognised this issue and offered "xclusive" photos in exchange for us taking things offline. Such a shame they didn't deliver as this would have all blown over ages ago.

Wow... receiving takedown requests about "statements on the website?" Prince REALLY REALLY does not like any negative views about him or his music. He can't control people's opinions. If I want to say his music since 1987 sucks, I can say it. How can he think he can control people's opinions?

that is our whole point. he can't. now if it were npgmc and i was a paying member, then he certainly can censor the posts. but housequake, as an independent fansite allows the right to freedome of speech. That is part of the reason that housequake has taken the position it has. It is operating within the law, it does not suppress the right to freedom of speech, its purpose is not to profit from Prince in away (which it has never done), its purpose is not injure or harm Prince or his reputation in in away. It is simply a website that appreciates Prince's musical talents and supports his music, just as the org does. cool

Strange they don't explain what they are being accused of. (that would be the Dutch way)
Although my relation with HQ is below par due to certain adolescent individuals I would be willing to donate $ if it were to go to court.
Prince needs to learn a few things.

This sounds like the woerkum way smile

now.. I cannot go to youtube.com and watch prince looking very gay and dancing in some gold lame shorts. which was a highlight of my working day once upon a time last year.It was very erotic.... and I'm a straight female by the way. John (Web Sheriff) you are not on my Christmas card list and I can tell by your Italian surname you are a Catholic. And usually Italian men are my cup of tea but you have lessened my desire for some latino loving. Maybe I could tempt you into my boudoir for some strong restraints on my bedposts!..... Then I could return to my days of entering prince heaven and watching his rare, early performances, yes on youtube.com that gave me insight into his artistry. Not just as a performer but his interviews where he talked about his music and artistic integrity... I very much respected him as a fellow artist when he talked about art and the time when he was arguing with his record label. prince is a true artist who should be allowed to develop as an artist and not be expected to churn out commercially viable music to get hit records. Maybe because he is a JV he does not want me to see him in his gold lame shorts anymore... or maybe he has taken all the videos, photos and other shit, thrown them in his vault and then he can retire and release an album/DVD a month and can do what he wants... he is his own ruler. prince always suprises us... I can't wait X

Damn straight. The modus operandi of the HateQuadrant operatives seems to be that anything that represents Prince in a good light is a dirty lie and that everything, no matter how unsubstantiated (mostly fifteenth hand accounts of decade-old legal disputes, web-coverage of which is entirely limited to more of the same kind of one-sided accounting), that provides 'evidence' to the contrary is the mf truth.

Here we have Mr. Housequake Mod jackbooting all over this thread and getting away with it only because the org DOES have the 'free speech' policy that HQ has been reserving entirely for its own mods.

Do us a favour matey..burn your Prince records and GET THE FUCK OVER IT.

My point is the sole purpose you appear to have in this thread (along with the other HQ threads) appears to be to belittle the site, to slam the moderators, and to mix-up the truth with whatever baseless rumours you have heard until somebody comes along to set you straight.
Whatever though - you keep on keeping it on with your crusade.
