fms said: come on, people: deal. please, the complaints are getting truly annoying. no one's forcing you to join npgmc, and prince doesn't owe us anything. we want him to be free, let's give him what he deserves. bad enough dealing with warner bros., let's not make it like 2 million little record labels out there all tryin to dictate the man's art.
peace I suppose people like fms would order food in a restaraunt, pay for it in advance and never ask any questions after an hour and a half had gone by by and their drinks hadn't even arrived yet - after all, the menu doesn't PROMISE how long your food will take, right? So I guess you'd be an "annoying complainer" if you had the unmitigated gall to inquire as to the status of your order...? Probably if Prince owned this restaraunt they'd WOULD just sit there like assholes while anyone with half a brain would walk out and never come back - let alone recommend it to their friends.

Join The NPG Music Club! 2002 Access These New CD's... Last December One Nite Alone The Best Of (Symbol) Xenophobia and other magnificent stuff! www.npgmusicclub.com --- Okay thats what my tour book says.. thats an advertisment, and they are promoting 4 new cds.. and stating u will recieve/have access to these if u join.. now whats up with saying their just "Ideas" You see? thats what pisses me off I suppose they could argue that "access" covers a lot of ground - from hearing the material performed live to reading about it in the program. I am positively stunned that even the most ardent Prince supporters, of which I consider myself one, could defend on any level the value of our purchase this year, the integrity of our inquiries, or the quality of the service we've received. And yes, I got two concerts and an aftershow, but when I do the math, all I really did was pay for the opportunity to spend more money - and a lot of money at that. Some "explosion" in the members retail section, huh? Great value there, right? My god, the blast was so deafening I had to cover my ears with my $20 mousepad. Some of you are right: they AREN'T holding a gun to my head, so enjoy paying $150 or $200 next year when sensible consumers like myself had elsewhere for our merchandise - that is, unless they get it together real quick in the next few months, in which case I will publicly (and gladly) eat my words.

This is to all you investors.
What i mean is consumers who are concerned with paid value for $100 and didn't get the cash from their mommy and daddy that they usually buy comic books with. This isn't for the religious fanatics who behave like this is the church collection plate or the con-artist worshipers who litter each thread and feel they are betraying the golden calf.. so save it. If you are fed up or feel you should be treated better or felt you were misled. The next step after contacting the BBB is to forward your well written concerns to the consumer editor of the Minneapolis Star Tribune at opinion@startribune.com. http://www.startribune.co...03227.html Letters should be brief, up to 250 words. Commentary articles should be kept to 750 words. Please don't send submissions as attachments and you're giving them permission to publish it by submitting the letter. You may want to make the letter directed to Chris Riemenschneider who wrote an article from a mistreated NPGMC customer at http://www.startribune.co...24793.html This is the way service is greatly improved.

Listen to this.
We all know of an interesting repeat business strategy that worked for Prince once and I strongly suspect that he's about to do it again. Follow me for a moment if u will. Why did Prince start threatening websites back in 1999? One of the tactically ingenious reasons he did it was (this is just my opinion as a legal strategist myself) to take alot of the heat off of his business that he was having with the bad-press about non-delivery, bad customer service, and credit investigations.. and "by gum mildred" it worked! Covering up damaging bad-press with even worse yet non-damaging bad press is an old political trick that I think first started in the Kennedy/Nixon days. Deeper into the business. Now since the financial year just started in October and he already collected off of memberships prior to this.. he's probably now going to conclude (and file a loss this year) and ship a costly set-form product. This made me guess that most NPGMC members weren't really going to see him tour europe or get the bulk of the CDs shipped until after mid-October. A costly small venue world tour without any major commercial promotion or record label picking up the tab won't be going that far beyond all the expenses. So what to expect? This is what worries me. That we're starting to see the beginning of another round of legal threats at the same that people are getting angry, impatient and not satisfied with the service of a premium $100 investment. And perhaps (sadly after all this waiting) the 3-set is it for the year. Or if he's going to file a huge loss this year.. maybe not! Stay tuned! The answer to almost every unanswered question is "$"

Even if he comes through with 3 new cd's, they're crazy overpriced at $25 each, yet I can settle on that if they're exclusive. If the final deal is only ONA Live, then we've been robbed (bamboozled, hoodwinked, took) as there's no way this 3 cd box set would retail for $75 when in the shops. No one in the general public would buy & I certainly wouldn't join next year. Remember, upfront seats at concerts, xenophobia, items from premium retail etc etc are all so crazily overpiced anyway, so I count all the $100 subscription to the 4 cd's.
I still have hope he'll deliver...

The song Last December is not on this live set; - the other 2 discs R called: ONA live. Besides, the album in the tourbook was the best of the Artist & not Prince. so, contractual obligation UNfulfilled.

Now I guess we're sopose to be greatfull to be members because he is doing a world tour ... dispite the extreemly expensive ticket prices ! Other acts charge heavily for the perfered seatting but Daymn ! And the non member seats are still close to if not double the cost of the same seats for any other performer in these venues! Now who's the Preacher in the pinstripe suit takin' us to the cleaners ? How Ironic ! I do love tha mans work but the way his busness is conducted is a whole other thing ! But then again it is true we should have known the club would fuck us over yet again I guess we should forgive them for their growing pains yet again ... NOT When will we recive the things for wich we have paid ? Too bad so many will be pissed @ Prince if this isn'y handled ! [This message was edited Mon Oct 14 1:49:46 PDT 2002 by Zandi]

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this does work out, I could not make the concerts (my own fault), but the main reason I joined was for the cd's. I was not aware of a tour when I joined, and to be honest was not expecting a tour (i live in the UK).
He has come through for me in the past though... I ordered the Crystal Ball set, and recieved Crystal Ball, Karmasutra a tee-shirt and the War on cassette, a very nice surprise. The membership still has a few months to run, so panic once February has been and gone and we have nothing! Until then, I am going to patiently wait for what was promised!

What do they do in the USA toward cases of this nature? There are many ways to end or correct problems like this in the U.S. this is not unusual..believe it or not...Publishers clearing house went throught the same thing last year...Well, they could offer refunds say for those who are not satisfied...Or give the Corp./. Company time to deliver also fines fees and what ever just depends...I mean this is a 50/50 thing here...half satisfied and half not...but 50/50 Unsatisfied is TOO MUCH! My brother in law works for a law firm in California that deals ONLY with company's and corporations...I have already spoke to him for legal advice...And it only confirmed what I thought...But this IS NOT THE WAY WE HOPE it turns out...I am keeping the faith untill due date...and nothing can be done until then! And also, CREDIT CARDs if a customer does not recieve merchandise ordered and you send proof with agreement the bank WILL credit your account and just take it back out of their bank with explaination...Banks these day PROTECT their customers...I WANT MY 3 exclusive CD's...I dont buy bootlegg or nothing I am honest and I expect the same in return.

4 physical cd's .. whats that supposed to mean? (Sav imagines 4 blank purple CDs in a box marked SuRpRiSe!) Who cares about "titles".. for all we know its a bunch of $75 old songs that we've already heard before. Or to be fair Will the music sound that much better when you know you spent a small fortune for 3 cds and were kept in the dark about what you waited so long for ? Whats he gonna send? 3 hand crafted, glow in the dark, personally autographed audio CDs that are ensured by the franklin mint to appreciate in value? . Has anyone asked if there is going to be a DVD among the 3?

What you've started (there i've said it!)with this thread (pointing the finger at you) is the drawing of the curtain upon what looks to be a serious case of fraud/misleading advertising with the screen captures, the "pulled" tour books. the cryptic ideas and even the misleading PR statement from SusanBlond Inc that reads: Well into the second year, 2002 NPG Music Club members have received even more new music, books, instruments and gear as well as soundcheck access, after-show parties and at least four new Prince CDs. With a $100 Premium Annual fee, the 2002 NPG Music Club proves that membership actually does have its privileges. 2002 NPG Music Club members HAVE NOT RECEIVED any books, instruments, gear and or any of these things for the $100. With a $100 annual fee you get none of these things, nor the aftershow party that he is charging "an additional" $100 for. 2002 NPG Music Club members are receiving FAR LESS music for $100. Most members have not received any cd at all and those that did got one cd with music that was already released in the first year. Do you think that this is misleading ? Well someone needs to say it...
"The Emperor has no clothes on" and is being slowly exposed as a fraud. But honestly how can you pay $100, wait and not have certain questions answered while NPGMC sits there and ignores you? These super expensive/not so exclusive live CDs of songs we already heard a million times before will complete the year and when they do... u had better be satisfied with those expectation now. Be happy I say if thats what you want. If you're not happy, what does your heart tell u 2 do ?
