By all accounts the soundcheck access seems 2 have been a nightmare on UK leg of tour so-far(could be venue's fault tho).Pre-sales were over by time I got thru,2 downloads which have remained unchanged on the site for AGES!!,and a new cd which every b-list,c-list and fucking z-list celebrity has heard before me. 'What if half the things I said-turned out 2 b a lie, how would u know the truth?' Time 2 seperate the music from the man. I dare each and every one of you to write to NPGMC and tell them every complaint that you have because if y'all want change to happen, then it might have to start with us. I'm glad that we have prince.org to come to and rant and rave but these complaint need to go to NPGMC more than any other place.
I did join the club and I'd like more music from Prince but I also knew what I was getting myself into. Prince is SUPER FICKLE. He'll say one thing and then say some thing else 5 minutes later. I'm not surprised about any of this. All it does is make me want Prince back on a label again. I think I'll put that in my letter, how about you? Why don't we come together and try to do something about this, that is if it really bothers you that badly. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

Hmm that sounds like misleading or false advertising. It wouldn't be the first contract that Prince broke.. or the last. If the music lovers on the ORG don't want 2 leave it 2 Prince 2 surprise them, then NPGMC should honor an investor with answers as close 2 the truth as they can get. I guess many music lovers who can't make it to a tour or enjoy the perks are getting a bit nervous. We're living in a post Crystal Ball fiasco world and if he knows that this set is definately the final act.. then he should at least (at this stage) give the club a yes or no answer before they chew their nails off. Back to the point in hand...
IF 'One Nite Alone...Live!' does constitute the completion of this years membership (and it's still just an 'if' at the moment) I think NPGMC could be facing a few lawsuits for breach of contract. It's clear that the implication was that we were gonna get 4 seperate, distinct CD albums. It doesn't matter how many 'physical' CD's an album is made up from, it's still only 1 album. You wouldn't go into a record store to buy say, Stevie Wonder's Greatest Hits, and then when you got to the checkout, get charged for each disc seperately would you? Personally, I think there will be at least 1 more CD to come after 'One Nite Alone...Live!' (as they could argue that 'It Ain't Over...' constitutes a seperate album... at a push) We shall see at the end of the year, when everything's finished. They could still come through, and send out ANOTHER 2 CD's. If they do I will certainly be singing their praises, and signing up for another year. | |

according to a news item posted here a few weeks ago by someone claiming to work for the company that's distributing this live album to the public, it can't be *given* to club members. they can buy it first, but no freebies. this is why i've said above that i hope some club members had the foresight to print out whatever "CONtract" ( ) it was they agreed to when they signed up, and that somebody finally calls the better business bureau on his ass. he's been jerking people around with this catalog/800#/music club BS for over 8 years now. | |

Well, if the 3CD live set is supposed to fulfill the rest of our membership, I won't be upset. But this is mainly because the concert perks (soundchecks and aftershows and best seats) more than paid for the membership in my mind.
However, if I lived in a city where he didn't visit on the tour, I might be a bit irate. I would sign up for the club again, but probably not until I see some concert dates announced that he is coming to my city again. | |

This NPGMC thingy is suspicious anyway.
PurpleAss© is an amazing artist, he's the only one i know who takes your money before the cds are even done. So he's in the strong position, the cds can be shit or good, they can even don't exist, he doesn't care, you already paid for it. If he was just a little bit honest, he would make you pay $25 a year just for the gigs and sell aside on the NPG site the cds WHEN THEY ARE READY, at a normal price (let's say $15 to $20), and allow you to preview it (30s snippets), so you can check if you LIKE IT OR NOT, if you want to BUY IT OR NOT ! But it will be less easy money and more work for PurpleAss© who then would have to bring some good music... | |
