well I backed up my license, reinstalled windows xp and the restore of the license did not work so now I'm unable to play the tracks. I would be helpful if it would be possible do download the license for the tracks I purchased but the NPGMC license server is not working.

I'm not going to buy DRM protected music again.

You can buy DRM stuff from iTunes without any problems. Those files have your name actually tagged into the file - no need to install anything on your computer. If you get a new computer you just enter your password again, no licenses per se. Prince should really work within the iTunes model (like Pearl Jam does). He can still have a "store" on his future website, but all downloading and sales are handled thru iTunes.

I've stopped downloading music period, until they offer true WAV/Lossless files. I'm tired of paying the same money for IMO low-quality files.
