Director of Prince's fan club operation (Sam Jennings)

According to the NY Times in recent article about Las Vegas.....

“The show is anything but a retirement show,” said Sam Jennings, director of Prince’s fan club operation. “He sees it as just an opportunity to stretch his legs musically,” by mixing up his song choices, booking performers of his own choosing several nights a week and inviting guests to perform with him on his Friday and Saturday gigs.

Has anyone ever heard of this guy? I never even heard of such a person when the npgmc was still up and running.

I'd personally like to get ahold of him to figure out why I haven't received any npg emails since June.

Insiders, please?

you've never heard of Sam Jennings? he's been around for a long time....I think he used to be just some joe shmoe fan and somehow got involved with P and designing the webpages and stuff. I could be wrong about all that but I'm pretty sure Sam J has been in the Prince camp for quite some time.

He is the long time DJ for Prince night at Berlin (in Chicago), I think he's aka SamNation...and he has a myspace page as well. I also think he was the web designer for the old NPGMC website as well as this new 3121 one.

cool

Damn langebleu is fast with the samnation info! edit

Read your liner notes on Prince's releases for the past several years. Besides webmastering, Sam also did graphic design on most of the CDs.

Yes, I believe he was director of the npgmc fan club. Me and my friends that attended the show this past weekend talked to him for about 20 minutes the night of the opening of 3121.He asked if he could take our pictures and we said yes. He took pictures and talked briefly with just about everyone waiting on line that weekend and put the pictures up on the 12 movie screens in the club. He is very nice.

The only way one can update their profile is by logging into a secure area of the website. And you wouldn't want your data & everything attached to be moved to an unsecured area because that could leave us all open to hackers, spammers, phishers & other trolls.

None of us can do anything until (unless) they unlock the doors, so to speak.
That call is Prince's....

patience is a virtue.... and I hear time is a trick anyways, so relax; it'll be over b4 u know it.... wink

Great! Did you or anyone else bring up to him the issue of the website closing and the fact that so many people haven't been getting correspondence? I'm curious to understand better what's up with that.

There was also an interview with Mayte to where she mentioned her and prince inteviewing him via an online chat for the job. He was a fan just like most of us who had a fansite ( www.emale.com ) and his web design got the attention of Prince and Mayte. That's when www.love4oneanother.com was born. It was asked at the time for all prince related websites to come together to form one website. Or so the message said. Later www.npgonlineltd.com was launched and the former site was replaced by the flash file and song "One Song". www.npgonlineltd.com later grew into www.npgmusicclub.com . Now we only have www.3121.com .

It was also said that it was Sam's baby at the end of the track "Xpedition" on the album Xpectation.

Sam's been around for a VERY long time and I think his career length with Prince is starting to rival some of Prince's earlier bandmates! Ohh, did I just jinx him? lol

He seems to be a very nice man. He was very courteous to those of us waiting on line on Friday/Saturday (11/10-11/11) and chatting it up with everyone, he's a cool dude.
