I paid for a bunch of video downloads from NPGMC right before 3121 kicked off. For some stupid reason I expected to be able to burn these files to a DVD (what was I thinking? ...this IS Prince we're talking about after all). Ok fine, I cut my losses on that one, took my lumps and didn't gripe any more about giving Prince an extra $12. But now, here we are with no more NPGMC and guess what? I can no longer play these video files on my computer because WMV cannot acquire a license.

All this to say: when NPGMC comes back, or if Prince ever has another website, I hope he'll take things like this into consideration. I mean just think about it; you buy the Purple Rain DVD or CD and all of a sudden one day your copy no longer plays because of some squabble with a corporation. People would be outraged if this happened. And I think people should be equally outraged over the "Rights Management" BullSh*t being used on files we've purchased.

If you're going to try to stop people from illegally downloading files, at least give them there monies worth.

Yes,I have the same problem.I had 2 reinstall the WinXP, and I can no longer play the downloaded videos&tracks anymore-no liscence

reinstalled winxp and the backup of the DRM licens did not work. I posted about this earlier. Lesson learned, never, never, never, never purchase DRM songs again.

Me too, a lot of people got burned from them. Prince is losing a lot of fans all over the world. I wonder if he even cares
