It's been over two months, y'all. After repeated queries to the NPGMC and repeated "it's on its way" replies, I just wonder who I need to blow to get my damn CD, already. I wish they'd just line up and drop trou so we can get it over with and I can quit my bitchin' till the next CD eludes my damn mailbox.

After a little over a month and not receiving ONA I wrote NPGMC and they had one shipped the next day and I got it within 3 days from my email. I was very polite and understanding and they were very professional in their response...Hopefully this gets worked out soon...

but anx...if you get ONA from the club before you get MY discs,who looks like the fool? you think i'm not blocking their shipment of your purple goodness in order to make mysel ultimately look like a more smoothly-run operation? (you think i'm stuck in a manic monday again? mwa-ha-HA!!!)

word on the street corner is that new members will get their CDs when the next shipment goes out later in the summer. So new members will get the CD, just not as early as the old members. I don't know if this applies to you or not. Members who have been around awhile might have other road blocks - wrong address in their profile, grabby mailmen ("Hey! a CD mailer from NPG Records! Looks like something is getting lost in the mail today."), or a grabby neighbor/room mate. Ya never know.

I didn't get mine when most people on here were reporting they had recieved theirs. So I wrote the NPGMC a short, polite e-mail and I received the CD a few days later. I'm not sure if it was already on the way, or if they figured out the problem and had it shipped, but I was glad to receive it. It's my favorite Prince CD in years (better than Rainbow Children or Rave Un2 to me, so I'm really enjoying it).

I've written TWO e-mails to NPGMC...the first said that they would look into it...after a month of waiting for them to "look into it", I e-mailed them AGAIN two Mondays ago and they responded by saying they've sent out EVERYONE'S copy of ONA, and I should expect my copy in 10-15 days.

In the time I've been waiting for this CD, I've burned about eight compilation CDRs, made cover art, and packed and shipped them to friends and loved ones. Meanwhile, I have a crazy demanding job that leaves me beat down at the end of the day. My point? It ain't that hard to put a damn CD together and get it out the door. IceNine sent me a TON of CDs, only days after he said he was thinking of burning some music for me - and HE HAS A KID. Can't Mr. Number One At The Bank do ONE THING RIGHT?!!?!?!?!?!?!?

Deep breath.

There. I feel much better now. So I'll never get my ONA disc. Next month I'll get tired of waiting, ask a friend if I can take them up on getting a copy of ONA burned, and I'll request that my membership be cancelled and my money refunded. I haven't gained one damn thing from NPGMC. Their online "exclusives" are a joke, I can't even log in without problems half the time, and I'm not getting the music I thought I was paying for.

I've been trying to give the NPGMC the benefit of the doubt the past couple of months, but now, fuck it. I wouldn't recommend this lousy racket to anyone. Sorry for the negativity, folks, but I could sure use that $100 on my bills right about now.

I did email NPG about it, and the response I got was something like, "I keyed you in for another copy." Not sure if I should have received that soon after (this was at least a month ago), or if it'll be coming when Xenophobia goes out, but I've given up worrying about it. I figure I'll get a copy one way or another...

Well, I joined NPGMC in January 2002 and to this day I have NOT received my ONA CD which frankly speaking pisses me off. For some strange reasons I decided not to download it from the net thinking that since I paid for the music I can wait to hear it legally.

I wrote NPGMC several times and I believe it was in a nice and polite manner and all I got was a string of short emails informing me:

- we have keyed you for a replacement
- please allow more time (more time??? - after almost three months of waiting?!?!?!?)

My NPGMC account states that the CD was shipped on May 7 and am willing to wait until August 7 (exactly three months) and see what happens. After that I don't know - I think you've got a certain body in America which defends consumers' rights or anything of that sort (yes, I'm not American). I'm a lawyer myself, I know what I would do here in my country but I don't know really the system in the States. Any ideas?

I sent a follow up email to npg a few days ago, and they replied saying that my ONA replacement CD would ship seperately from the next club CD, and that my order was still being processed. Not sure why it is taking this long to process my order, I emailed them about a replacement over a month ago, but who knows, maybe they're waiting on a new batch of CDs from whoever is doing the pressings.

I guess I'd be a lot more pissed if everyone else who had received their ONA albums were totally raving about it being the best cd from Prince since Sign O' The Times or something like that, but so far most people seem happy or content with it, but not too excited. Personally, I'm more excited for the Xenophobia jazz/fusion album. If I don't get that right, wooo doggies! I'll be upset

I hate to tell you this, but the wait will prove anti-climactic once you receive the CD.
