Has anyone noticed the new photos on the NPG home page? The last one shows someone holding up a poster which name checks NPGMusicClub (obviously), housequake and The Org!!!

Does this give housequake and The Org recognition and acceptance?

It was Jone70! I was with her as she proudly held the sign up for the world to see. Also, if I may add, in the same pic on the bottom right hand corner, you will see me with my hands up in the air and and a cell phone over my head! We all had a great time Friday and I gotta give a HUGE shoutout to Jone70 for making that dope poster!

Now maybe some of yall will learn something. The site displayed that pic full well knowing it had all the main Prince websites written on the display/posterboard.

Here in this forum, there's several shit talkers of that site and its participants.

It's true...that was my sign.

I felt it was really important to rep for Housequake & the Org on as well because people here are just as much fans as NPG members. Orgers & Quakers love Prince too! (And I was a member of the org before I joined NPG so I have a certain sentimentality for this place. )

It almost didn't get through the ABC "censors." They asked, "What is 'the org'?" I explained that Housequake, the Org & NPGMC were the three major Prince websites. They were skeptical that it was too advertise-y--I said, "Well I didn't put .com or .org b/c I knew that wasn't allowed." I told them I would just show the other side of my sign which read, "Publicity Stunt" (an inside joke to my friends) so they let me in with it! Yeah, right, like I was just gonna do that.

I saw a guy with a professional looking camera come out b/f the show started and take pics of the crowd so I held it up--the guy must have been Ashfin (is that is name)...I, too, was a little surprised they posted it on NPG.

I swear Prince saw it too, because we were directly in front of him (not all the way in the front, but in VIP) and after Let's Go Crazy when he was striking a pose and we were all cheering I held that sucker up and it seemed like he was looking right in our direction. And if he didn't see it then, maybe he saw Ashfin's pics or the posts on NPG.

Yay!

But now my secret identity (different user name on the other sites) is out....maybe I'll commit org suicide and reincarnate...

Each site is what it is. This site allows more freedom to say what you want about Prince than the official one. So there is obviously going to be a little disdain regarding that. But there are plenty of us that frequent all 3 sites just fine and have friends across them all.

One shouldn't let a few bad apples be "the spokepeople" for the org. As you say there are several and out of a couple thousand that ain't too bad.

This whole thing relates to why I felt it was important to put HQ, the Org and NPGMC on my sign...why can't we all just be Prince fans? Sometimes I get annoyed with the clique-y-ness that exists (on all three sites) and the snide remarks that people post putting down other sites (again it happens on all three sites). Like SSB posted, each site is what it is. They each have their strong/weak points. I really try to keep my personal feelings about each site private, but everyone has bad days when we post things we probably should keep to ourselves--I know I've been guilty of it at times.

I didn't respond initially b/c my gut reaction was to write something snotty but then when I went back and re-read (it's fundamental, I've heard ) I realized you were essentially saying that those on the Org who always dog NPGMC for putting down the org might wanna take the foot out of their mouths b/c NPGMC posted a pic of a poster with the Org, HQ and NPGMC written on it; so I didn't respond b/c I realized I had misunderstood your post the first time.

No harm no foul as far as I'm concerned...and I'm not trying to be snotty, I'm just explaining why I, personally, found the post a bit confusing.

Aw, thanks. Sadly, everything I know about English grammar came from learning it in French and then applying it to English; because I sure as hell never learned it in my Jr. High/High School. (Good ole USA educational systems! )
