does it mean he won`t perform on american idol or is it a hint he will perform there or

Whether he'll be there or not, it's definitely to do with American Idol. I've always thought it would be odd for him to play on a show with such a title.

Of course, Prince has been known to expect a little worship himself from time to time...

American Idol is just a title. There are no more people worshiping those contestants/that show than anything/anyone else. It can't mean that. Maybe it means that NPGMC is to be shut down. From what I've heard here, that's more an alter of worship than anything American Idol.

It's just Prince stirring the pot. He often has admonished folks to flee from worshiping him as an idol. Yet, he's one of the most narcissistic rock stars we know.

Well said. It's just a show that many are into. It's a contest. People cheer on the contestants on televised contests. But no one is "worshiping" anybody.

However, I do think it has to do with AI...seeing as the finale is tonight. And if this is his attempt at publicly pouting regarding anything that he would have to do or not do with AI, that's a bit sad.

i'm right there with eleven...i think i'm kinda done for right now. i can't get with the vegas version of prince, especially if he decides he's only gonna play there for a while. 3121 was okay, but it didn't excite me. maybe with a bit of promotion and a tour, i'd be more psyched about this album. on its own merits, though, i just think it's pleasant. there's tons of other stuff i've heard this year that i like a whole lot more.

i'm always going to be a huge fan of the prince of years past, and i'm always gonna have my ear to the ground waiting for rumblings regarding the prince of years future, but the prince of here and now is something i just can't get with.

he's amazingly talented, he's an icon, he's to be admired for all his achievements...but to me, right now, he just ain't cool. or, to me, even very interesting.

which is sad for me to say. but he's like the weather in indiana. if i don't like him now, wait five minutes....
