So are we expecting a tour an NPGMC tickets? Surely thats go to be what the announcment/news is on Mon 17th (Radio 2) and,if so, do you think there will be priority tickets again?
Has there been a tour (Musicology?) since the new stripped-down NPGMC has been operataing and,if so, did those countries get the first dibs on tickets? I hope it doesnt balls up again this time....I havent had decent seats since the Gold Experience tour (and that was only because the lady who ran Controversy was kind enough to let old memebers know off her own back)

There was a rumour that Radio 2 was in talks with Prince to do a session, so the announcement could be that rather than a tour, who knows?
If there was a tour, I would expect NPGMC to make available some front-row seats for buying through the npgmc, as happened on the ONA tour. If the rumoured Radio 2 session was to be recorded in the UK, perhaps tickets would be made available for that, or maybe it would only be via Radio 2, again, who knows? Certainly worth tuning into Radio 2 around then and keeping on top of things. I don't know what you mean by the 'new stripped down npgmc'? It has been like this for a few years now. The ONA tour was the first tour where priority tickets were made available to members, although there were 2 celebrations at Paisley Park previous to that which members could buy tickets to. Since the ONA tour, Prince played Hong Kong, Australia and Hawaii, which was seen as a warm-up to the Musicology tour which eventually followed and which again members got priority seating. Recently there has been the mini-tour promoting Tamar, I don't know if priority tickets were made available for that or not. The advance ticket/front row business has been working relatively fine now for a few years, but you have to be a member and have to get in there quick when they go for sale online as there isn't a limitless number of these seats. Also you are usually limited to only 2 tickets per member and have to show up with your credit card in person on the day to collect the tickets, this is to avoid ticket touts hoarding tickets.

The last time (and only time) a tour hit UK soil since NPGMC has been going was the ONA tour...there were,as you say, priority tickets but that was when membership was $100 a year (and i missed out cuz they had no details of my membership). I wasnt sure if they still had that perk since the $25 one-off-fee club has been going (there hasnt been a tour over her to find out) [Edited 4/6/06 10:48am]

Well it was $100 for membership plus, as it turned out, the 3 CD ONA live and ONA CD, plus the chance to download Xpectation. Throw in the privileged seating, it was well worth it!
If they messed up your membership details, that sucks. Did you pay the $100 and get nothing then? Not even the CDs? The Musicology tour in the US still had the privileged seating. I think there would be a fan outcry if it didn't continue for the next tour also. [Edited 4/6/06 11:04am]

[Edited 4/6/06 11:04am] No,no,no...sorry I didnt explain it very well....what I was asking was if the $25 one-time-payment NPGMC has the priveledge seating bonus that the $100 per year NPGMC had. Ive been a member since day one but despite countless teases of World Tours taht never left US soil (Musicology for example) there has only been one European tour during teh whole NPGMC experience. Unfortunately, when that time came, my membership details appeared to ahev been lost which meant it wouldnt recognise me to allow me to login and get tickets. I imagien it was more of a server problem than anything else but,at the tiem it was very very frustrating and becoming typical of an NPGMC that appeared to put money first and fans second. I havent really had too many problems with NPGMC - the ticket thing was the biggest blow (especially as its only been available once so far)...that combined with the salt in the wound of Prince getting the front rows to chant "join the club" to those of us nearer the back of the venue and then pointing out that if we wanted good seats we've got to "join the club" if we "cared about him"..."Join the club" Thats understandably annoying when you have infact "joined the club" on the very first day it opened...and now we come full circle to me wondering if there is still an oppurtunity for me to experience that perk with the current NPGMC set up. Just to clear things up... I did receive the majority of downloads that have been available through NPGMC (never got C-Note though as they went through a phase of not emailing me links to files) I did get the ONA Live box set and ONA album cd sadly missed out on the seats though

When the ONA tickets came for the UK gigs, I had tons of trouble getting into the club because of the web traffic - lost of black screens, I kept restarting from the beginning thinking it had crashed. Eventually I read here on the Org that if you restarted you got sent to the back of the queue! The trick was to be patient and wait for the various screens to load - very slow as I was only on a 56k modem back then. Eventually I got through and bought a ticket. The next day I went back to get another ticket for another day and it was far, far easier and luckily there were still tickets available! (never got C-Note though as they went through a phase of not emailing me links to files)
Links to C-NOTE were never actually emailed out to every member. Some member got sent links to one track, some to another. I can't remember if I was even sent a link at the time. But thanks to the Org, someone posted ALL the links in one place so I got them all! Of course, C-NOTE is now available from the Musicology store, so there was no need to panic!
