Hey guys and Dolls,
Just want to know who is on the NPG Music club and what's your opinion of it? Is it cool to say whatever you feel..even if it is critical of Prince and the NPG? Is it worth it? anything. Thanx in advance

I dont understand that Prince always use to say "music should be free" blah blah blah back when he was having that bitchy warner dispute, then he charges people to hear his music at that club

It's stupid! And if it was not for a few concert tickets, it would not even be a "music" club. Otherwise, it sucks!

They are good about the tickets. I wish I could talk over there. I would like to discuss some of the topics. Had problems with some Merchandise But, I think that is MUSICTODAY's FAULT NOT NPG. They aren't Packaging the MERCHANDISE CORRECTLY and it's getting Damaged in TRANSIT... Prince should DROP MUSICTODAY as his MERCHANDISE OUTLET and have his own Group like when he had the NPG STORE. They were ALWAYS GOOD...ALWAYS GREAT QUALITY.. MUSICTODAY if they are handling this..DOESN'T CARE bout QUALITY.

I'm still waiting for my colorblock tee-shirt which I paid for 2nd day delivery and they sent Defective. I will call today and see where it is. I ordered it first day it went on sale. I say they are Crap Distributers and he should find another way. When he had the NPG store everything was COOL.

I called them today and they said I would get it by the 14th. Now, I ordered it originally first day it came out and paid for second day shipping which they said was by UPS. I had to send it back plus buttons. I received the buttons and they packaged it PERFECTLY. But, Damn they are REALLY LAX.....NOBODY should have to be BOTHERED RETURNING NEW MERCHANDISE cause they ROUGHLY HANDLED IT the FIRST TIME! they never thank the members nor does Prince except mayb at concerts

i'm not sure how they can expect to be taken seriously

as a representtion of Prince and all his work

he'd be better off having his own website that he controls

no forums - leave that to fan sites

just release his music when and how he wants

and send emails to his fans from a no-reply address

I think on NPG, just like any message board, people start shit to see what they can get away with. They think it either makes them look like a badass to their online buddies or they do it so they can run to other message boards and say how they were unfairly banned. I have a sneaking suspicion I know who you were over there, SW, so I really don't get how you feel you were banned unfairly.

I have been a member of the club since the beginning and have been posting to the boards since they first opened three years ago. I was a little taken aback by some of the topics that were discussed and a seemingly lack of moderation towards folks who posted racial and homophobic things but in time, most of us have been able to hold our own.

We talk about everything under the sun over there. We talk about the new album. We talk about Prince and you know what? As long as we are respectful, the posts stay. I have zero idea why people want to go on the man's website (he don't curse no mo) and curse or say disrespectul shit about him or his friends. Hell, if it were your site, would you allow it to happen?

A lot of people in this forum bitch about the club. What are you guys doing to make it better? Come over. Post more. Add your two cents. We all don't agree with every little thing the moderators say or do and form united fronts to get some of our members back. There are assumptions made about facts not in evidence. Go to the members forum and read the threads on the first page. Tell how we are fambotic, sheep or any other such terms used to describe the NPGMC. Yes, there are people over there who are a wee bit fanatical but ignore them. Just like I don't visit certain forums here, you can choose not to visit forums over there.

sacredwarrior is a member who has gone under a number of names over there. "penelope" and most recently "home". She populates the boards with what I would regard as faux spiritual psycho-babble, all the time perpetuating this self belief that she has some mystical connection with Prince and can see the "real" reasons behind all the latest business decisions (Universal records are evil you see). Sometimes it gets too much for everyone including the PPs, so she gets a temporary ban but will probably re-join (spend another $25 on another username) and start all over again. Now I think I have seen some org posters like that around here too...

And members like Ivy (Romera) and I get lumped together with her. Please. Come on over join, or join in. You can be a member here as well as there and your mortal soul will not be in as much turmoil as some would have you believe.
