Is it worth it?

Hi all,
I just joined this site & have some (alot) questions.. First..is being a member of NPG music club worth the $$$? Im in Canada, so is that 100 U.S. dollars? What all do I get for that? Do I have to re-apply for membership every year? God, I hope not!!

Tell me EVERYTHING!!

I joined this year because Prince is sending us albums. He is, in my opinion, on a creative upswing. I love the last two CDs and after hearing 'xenophobia' live last Sat. night - I know I'm going to like it.

Also, after being let into his soundcheck last Sat. night, I believe the membership is completely worth it.

I am looking forward to the next three discs.

thanks,
RONNY

Yep, 100$ USD. Personally, I've enjoyed the NPGMC. I was a member last year also...and yes U do need to renew yearly. Check the site to see the joys of the club, and keep posting your questions, lawd knows there are enough people here to answer them. smile and ps welcome.

It was totally worth it for my friend and me, but only because we went to two concerts and soundchecks, and one afterparty (where we talked to him)! From my perspective, it is not worth joining just for the CDs and downloads.

Oh, by the way, we are Canadian too!

You have to do it online with a credit card and they don't send you anything to verify your membership. When you order tickets, which at this point might not be for a second since he's toured the US and Canada already, you go to Ticketmaster with the password or the NPGMC site in the member's retail site. You'll get member laminates at the different concerts you go to and be kept abreast of certain things a little better than some cause you'll get sporadic news directly from the music club. As someone said it's probably not going to be worth joining just for the cd's but if you are able to travel to concerts and the soundchecks you might enjoy the membership a lot.

Well, I live in good old Blighty and it was worth it for me. Even if he doesn't get around to touring, though one can live in hope.

It is definately worth it!!! I've been in the front row 2 times, thanks to NPGMC (and my boyfriend who waited in line all night in front of the Kodak Theatre..) We also got to be there for the soundcheck, and got into the Aftershow with no problems.. I am spoiled now..
But there is nothing like standing right next to the stage.. He was RIGHT THERE and I was tempted to touch his ruby red boots.. But I thought against it.. Didn't want to piss him off..
"Oh, I'm picking out a thermos for you...."

I joined just for the cds. The club cds are rare. I have paid up to $40 for an import cd with 4 or 5 songs on it so working it out to $25 each cd doesn't seem outlandish to me.
