I thought Prince was blocking people from selling it on Ebay? If not, I think I'm gonna sell mine too. I'm not digging it.

I guess they haven't hit the online auction circuit. Prince cannot prevent the sale of anything that isn't a bootleg. I paid for it through a legitimate source & I sold it to a legitimate moron.

I asked Prince if he was bothered about members selling this on eBay and he said "not really, it's only going to one other person, after all" or something like that, can't quite remember the exact words but that's close enough.

Shocking. This is so out of order. Some people have no morals. I would never rip-off a fellow Prince fan. OK a certain person was willing to pay, but that’s beside the point, it’s still a rip-off. I suppose your moral principles aren’t exactly of the highest order irishecho especially if you gauge it by judging your other ignorant rants. You are no different from the people scalping Prince fans for concert tickets, this is so wrong. No doubt you’ll retaliate with the usual “your an arsehole” or some other childish insult.

Oh, no doubt, eh? No doubt you've heard of supply & demand? I cannot control how much money some imbecile Prince zealot is willing to pay for a CD. No doubt there is a tremendous difference between what I did & scalping - I sold something I did not want to someone who must have really wanted it. I did not manufacture fake copies of the CD. I did not determine a selling price & say take it or leave it. I let those interested in bidding on the item bid on it & the CD went to the highest bidder - like any auction. No compromising of morals involved whatsoever. Sorry. And look at that, no childish insult, you wanker!

Concert tickets where sold on e-bay for much more than their face value, that’s exactly what you have done with your cd, you are no better than the scalpers.
I see you couldn’t resist a childish insult at the end of your post, how sad.

I didn't sell concert tickets, so no, it's not "exactly what I have done." For your information, you imbecile, I started the bidding at a very respectable $15. People who bid on it are the reason I made the money from it that I did.

Glad to oblidge with the much deserved insult.

If you read my post properly you’ll see that I didn’t imply that you where personally selling concert tickets, I was simply making the comparison. Scalpers made a fortune from concert tickets. You have done the same selling your CD in the same manner. I hope this has clarified what I’ve said twice already. How ironic that you used the word imbecile, go to the mirror boy.

And what exactly is it that we have to learn from the likes of you IrishEcho?

How to be an arrogant, prejudiced bastard?

That's the whole point. As much as these idiots criticize me for selling it - trying to paint me as the villain - I didn't force anyone to buy it (let alone pay what they paid for it). 8 people bid on it, starting at $15. I can't control how easily they part with their money.

congrats on selling your cd for such a high price. people pay outlandish prices everyday on e-bay - why shouldn't you take advantage of the situation. I guess some people believe if you buy something & decide you don't want it & it is non-returnable you should keep it forever. fuck that.

the difference is WHERE you buy it.
If you buy it in a conventional store you are absolutely right.

But if you buy it from a music club like the NPGMC with an agreement that says you can't use your cd's for public and commercial purposes, it is a different matter.

Irishecho didn't just want to dispose off his cd...

he could have given it to a fan with no money or just for 15 bucks.

instead he choose to make much more off it, thus making it commercial use.

they should cancel his membership, then he still has paid 100$ but didn't make more than 83$.

edit: correction 83 instead of 87$

2 thoughts:
1 - Have you ever bought a promotional cd that has it printed on the jewel box not for sale? I know I have. Whats the difference?
2 - If NPGMC forbids sale of their product they have a buy-back program.

You're right, Rio. Are we really supposed to believe that someone who bitches about Prince as much as irishecho does, paid $100 for NPGMC membership?
And if IrishEcho DID pay $100 to join a club dedicated to a musician he/she can't stand, then who's really the sucker?
It's one thing to log onto the org and bitch and bait. It don't cost nothing. But paying money to bitch would make IrishEcho a sucker and an idiot.
