I was in the NPGMC forums last night and Post after POst was constant slagging off of Prince - The NPGMC Site and Certain Members !!!

One comment was - "I (Not Me) Have been a member longer than you so I deserve better deals from this site than you !! and that Long time members should be seated closer to the front than newer members on the tours.....Perhaps we should don our white hoods too confused

Other members constantly whinge and moan about the lack of "Goodies" on the site .....

Yet these same members then go on to praise prince in another Post on that very site ?? eek

Once in a Magazine it was stated that Prince Fans where of the most Loyal followings to any known musician.....How times have changed??

I totally agree with what sonofblade says....Sadly from what I have seen, there is no pleasing the majority of members in the NPGMC (or more to the point - users of the forums - after all I doubt every member dares to go into the forum for fear of being insulted by some 14 year old who doesnt even know the track listing to Purple Rain)

All I can say is Stick with Prince.orgs forums and just pop into NPGMC for your Online shopping.....Much more enjoyable !!

Thats a very inyteresting post and I know where you are coming from...I just think Prince has alot to do with teh change in attitude - I think its a tactic he had in mind that has back fired.

Back in about 95 (?) when all the SLAVE thing came about I remember a quote/interview from him that went along the lines of that he wished he wasnt so popular and would love to get his fanbase down to a smaller size with just the fans that cared about him....at the time I thought that was impossibe but I suppose he's done it.

I wouldnt so much say that he is left with those who care about him but more a mix of:

1) Hardcore worshipers who cant see anything but what he says and does
2) Fans who think that this is just a phase and that he has soemthing up his sleave
3) Fans who are sure he can turn it around and still buy his stuff incase there is soemthing good in there and to complete the collection (THATS ME)
4) Fans who cant believe that this is really happening.

The trouble is, for once, I think Prince has got it wrong.....The NPGMC IS Prince whether he like it or not and,in recent years, it has become something akin of a master throwing scraps of meat to a pack of hungry dogs....not everybody is going to get fed and those that do get fatter and fatter whilst the same people miss out time after time....and no matter what shit he throws we are just grateful for anything

There just simply arent enough perks on NPGMC to go around...the concert ticket benefits are only and andvantage to (on tehmajority of occasions) US residents or those who can bunk off work to sit in front of the PC to book them at weird hours, the music is stuff that we already own on the majority of times and only the real hardcore worshipers think that he givingback soemthing.

The only time in recent years that I have really felt Prince being Prince is when he came to London for ONA live...3 years ago!!!!! - and NPGMC had NOTHING to do with that becaus ethey balls my tickets up and I had to buy my own for stupid prices.

I would love to be proved wrong but since Year One ended they havent tried at all...truth be known theyve tried thier best to do the minimum.
