the difference is WHERE you buy it.
If you buy it in a conventional store you are absolutely right.

But if you buy it from a music club like the NPGMC with an agreement that says you can't use your cd's for public and commercial purposes, it is a different matter.

Irishecho didn't just want to dispose off his cd...

he could have given it to a fan with no money or just for 15 bucks.

instead he choose to make much more off it, thus making it commercial use.

they should cancel his membership, then he still has paid 100$ but didn't make more than 83$.
edit: correction 83 instead of 87$

Actually, the only difference is that I made more money per CD sold than Prince did. Does that make you sad? I sold a product I no longer (if ever) had any use for. People sell other legitimately released Prince CDs in online auctions all the time - some go for a quarter, some, like "Peace," (a single) sell for as much as $100. No one but the buyer & their demand for the CD is guilty of raising the price that much. I have neither the time nor the interest in looking for "a fan with no money" to give it to. And had no one else bid on it, it would have sold for $15 to the first bidder. Blame them. Not me.

You're right, Rio. Are we really supposed to believe that someone who bitches about Prince as much as irishecho does, paid $100 for NPGMC membership?
And if IrishEcho DID pay $100 to join a club dedicated to a musician he/she can't stand, then who's really the sucker?
It's one thing to log onto the org and bitch and bait. It don't cost nothing. But paying money to bitch would make IrishEcho a sucker and an idiot.

How do you suppose I was able to review both the NYC show & soundcheck without being a member of the music club? How do you suppose I could provide a review of the ONA CD, or offer an opinion on it if I'm not a member & never heard it. And considering that there are at least 3 more CDs that I can sell & a sucker born every minute (& a high concentration of them are Prince fans), I think I'm looking at a tidy little profit off of Prince's crappy music. Then again, on the off chance he releases something good, I'll keep it.

Life's too short to waste on stuff you don't like (not counting job, school, etc.).
But if that's what gets you off, how sad and pathetic you really must be.
Hmmm, I guess maybe you do have something in common with an overly obsessive Prince fan. lol

I'm sad & pathetic & you're spending time commenting on me? Doesn't say a lot for you. Don't tell me how to spend my time & if you're not the fool who paid as much as he did for the CD, don't worry about it. It's none of your business anyway.

As a matter of fact I do. What exactly is your point in arguing about this anyway, other than some poorly focused animosity you must have toward me? If you weren't the fool who bought it from me, I don't see what concern it is of yours.

So how can used bookstores sell used CDs? Same goes for recordstores, even the big chain stores do it... Rasputin, Streetlight, etc
I mean, like, where is the sun?
