Brand New Orleans

This is in the Glam Slam VIP section of NPGMC this weekend. Obviously in reference to whats going on in New Orleans at present, but what is it? Is this a new piece of music?

It is an instrumental track, lasting six minutes, thirty-eight seconds. It reminds me of Stevie Wonder jamming with Graham Central Station. It sounds very 70's. It is very funky.

It reminds me of Stevie Wonder because the trackis very keyboard-orientated.

Who is that playing that keyboard solo? Shall we wager? Is it Renato, Prince or someone else banging away on the keys? I think Prince.

Just listen to how he played the keys on People Without...

Prince should get freaky more often...

One thing; I do not understand how this track connects with New Orleans as it has been in the news the last days.

That's a nice little instrumental... has a little bit of the spirit of New Orleans. Sans the drum pattern, it sounds like it could be an old Meters cut.

Ditto, it reminds me of a earth wind and fire song my dad played to me not 2 long ago. So funky, its starts off just like a 70's tight funky band would, then moves into our era, like this track

Yeah, it's not my thing either - too clean-sounding for jazz funk.

Is my thought too.

Originally a track called SST (?) was announced... it seems they changed the title...

I like the loose feel of the song, esp the keyboard solo/jamming.

it was a nice surprise to wake up to this morning - i certainly wasn't expecting it, and a little something beats a big ol' cup of nothing. so, eh, whatevs - it's nice. it's not 'lovesexy 2: spooky electric boogaloo', but i wasn't really expecting as much this weekend. smile

Is it my alcohol soaked brain (very likely nod ) or am I listening to an improvised jam of My Medallion.
