So who thinks the club is a let down? So much potential.....so little use of it "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

It's only a let down if you don't DO something about it. Give ideas and suggestions...Don't come to another site and complain about it That is my

wait til we're in the thick of a new prince album promotion, then let's talk about what the club will offer or not offer. seriously.

When the new album comes out, they will offer video's off that album, live tv performances that most already saw, and, maybe chaos and disorder for paid download.
This topic really is for long time fans of Prince, the people who know his catalog, and know how much he could potentially give, but doesnt. (I use give very loosly here, as we will be gladly paying for it) Example of what I would like to see: Songs from vault, unreleased albums, live recording that havent already been released every year at the club since it began. It started off good with the MP3's the 1st year, then steadily went downhill. Yeah it looks better, but it is the content that really matters. Keep the shirts, keep the mugs, this is a "music" club, release it!!! So go ahead and tear this apart becuase most here will defend everything Prince does, or doesnt do....but I would be extremely surprised if anyone who has followed Prince since the early 80's as I have could honestly say " yeah, the stuff he puts up for dload is just what I wanted". Having a new album out has nothing to do with the potential content of the club. At any time, a multitude of different things could be posted that have nothing to do with whatever the new album is. Prince is the most influential artist of our time, his catalog is matched by none, his creative output is levels above his peers. He knows what would really please his fans. For the casual fan who hasnt followed Prince the club probably seems great, but for the rest of us, the well has run dry and we are longing for some great stuff, old and new, that have not been seen before. Those people stopped caring about the club and found other music and sites to visit in the meantime until something happens.

At some point, Prince will realize where his bread and butter lies.
However, as long as he has a great tour and criticly acclaimed album every 5 years or so, he'll never fully give his "true" fans the hook up. The best times to be a fan were the Gold Experience days when it seemed like he'd play every weekend at the Park. This was capped with the Celebrations in 2000 and 2001, then... fizzle. The Rainbow Children/One Nite Alone tour seating, IMO, is the only real highlight of the NPGMC. [Edited 8/22/05 18:58pm] -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

[Edited 8/22/05 18:58pm] i got two front row seats for musicology shows last year, so those ticket sales via NPGMC are certainly a highlight for me. i just wonder if the critiques will still run as free when the next album drops and prince decides to loosen up the vault strings a little to promote his next project on the club. just have a bit of patience - i think the lifetime fee was put into place so they wouldn't feel a pressure to come up with new stuff on an ongoing basis. it may not be the way we'd want things to be run, but eventually, ya might get your money's worth in time. as far as i'm concerned, the club has more than paid for itself in all the ticketmaster fees i didn't have to pay last year.
