I am a #1 Prince fan! Why does it cost like $25 to join the NPG Music Club, it makes me kind of mad. I want to join but I think, if you just buy Prince stuff such as products and CD's that should be enough! Other artist let you join for free because your a fan!!!

They charge because people will pay big bucks to get their Purple Rain on!
I have 3 memberships and I might buy another if he goes back on tour soon.

Callejero, did you manage to buy all the memberships on 1 credit card and with 1 address and 1 email account, or did you have to get a bit creative? Have you actually used your membership to get into concerts yet? Because it occurred to me that when you collect your ticket as you go in, you have to prove your identity as a club member, and since they know it is only 2 tickets per member, I don't see how you could collect all 6 tickets at once unless you went back out and rejoined the queue to get in twice more...

bans are typically temporary (like sending your child to the corner) unless you do something really, really bad or are a repeat offender. I think it makes sense to charge the membership fee. The site doesnt run for free. You have to pay for servers, bandwith, etc. Not to mention the cost to continually design the site. try going to another artist's site and see what they charge? most don't have a one time, lifetime fee, most are renewable annually

even if you only use it for the discounted price of merchandise, right to exclusive downloadable music, and first right at concert tix, you have more than made your money back!

Really? So They couldn't simply have as a rule that members can not get more than 2 tickets and no more than 1 membership so this made up problem doesn't exist anymore?

You can defend the club's business tactics, but a business is about money and nothing else.
