NPGMC weekend trax 11 June 2005

Weekend trax in the reflection room are ...

Come One Late Nite Remix

and

Face Down Mix, which I have never heard before. It's an instrumental mix. I've heard the Face Down Mix with vocals before in the ahdio shows, but not this.

In the Glam Slam VIP room ...

Days of Wild 2002 from Montreal, the 10:47 mix. Sounds like PP trimmed the cd release that was handed out at the Xenophobia 2002 Celebration.

Nonetheless, 20 minutes of funk. Heh, 47 ... Prince is 47 and loves the funk.

One mo Jam 4 prince and the band ...

ZZZZZeeeeenaaaahhffffooooohhhhbeeeeeaaaahhhhh.

I have the Montreal CD and my DOW clocks in at 11:04. How could it be trimmed if the track is longer????

My Days of Wild Montreal CD as bought from the NPG store clocks in at 10.47. It may be that the one handed out at the Celebration was slightly different? Heck, 17 seconds could be just silence tacked on the end, or a longer fade out.

The 'Celebration' CD single was a longer track (11:04) than the NPG retail version (the 'Concert Mix' version, 10:47), which had less of a fade at the end and some extra overdubs.

This version of 'Face Down' is the 'Instrumental Money Mix' from the 'Face Down' promo. This track is slightly longer than the promo CD version because it has a slight snippet of the end of the 'X-Tended Rap Money Mix' stuck to the beginning (the track preceding the instrumental version on the promo).

could it be - some actual unreleased mixes in the reflection room? Isn't that a first?

Not sure if a 'promo' is classed as a proper release, in the case of the Face Down promo where the instrumental comes from, but the late Nite mix of 'Come On' is from the maxi single. But you know, not that easy to come across.
