The War!

Ok, as you all know alittle over a Week ago we got an Email from NPGMC
telling us about all the new stuff that was there, they said that "The War"
was one of them.....well, I can't seem to find it! Was it just up
for a short period of time? I've checked in both the Memeber and Non-Member
Download Store.

Oh, ok. I didn't realize a 4th Mixer had been opened, I just always
stopped when I got to 3. lol Thanks.

Another question.....I've heard a debate that it isn't the full version of "The War", the 46 min one. The downloadable one is about 26 mins.....is it still worth it?

I suposse, for somebody like me, who hasn't heard the 46 min one, the 26 min one would be just fine. lol

The extra 20 minutes were just the loop over and over and over and over and over and over again with Prince backstage somewhere. Many many people left early because it was so boring and so late (early in the morning).

if the govt if the govt wants toooo put a microchip in yo neck..right on...

That has to be one of the strangest songs ever, I was at the Atlantic City show after the MSG show, the one where P twisted ankle and he played a sorta technoish version of the War.. "There's a war going on in here..there's a War going on in my Mind" repeated again and again with a techno beat Prince on keyboards and he talked about the NPG and Larry G and Chaka..etc. I never heard about that before or after that show and mainly most tickets were given to high rollers so not many reported in to the P Family back then.. razz

One of my favourite Prince songs ever.

A stone-cold classic.

I would have loved a whole Album in that style.

Peace

Ok, I found "The War" on the Site, and downloaded it. Now I want to
put it on a CD. But what I was wondering is what have you all done.....since
it doesn't take up all, not even half the Space on a CD, have you put
it on a CD with other stuff, or have you just left it by itself?

Well, that's a strange question... just do as u feel. As 4 me, i burned it alone on one CD, cuz i consider it a complete album by itself, & didn't want anything else on the CD, but lotsa people just wanna save CD space & burn something else...

Depends on how u feel about it...

I still got the cassette somewhere - actually thought it was a nice surprise to receive that at that time for free (after the month-long wait for CB)

But the song drags on a bit, if I remember correctly...
