Have you obtained your license to play the new tracks or do you get that error message when you play any other music on your computer?
Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Searched on the internet for this error message and it seems quite a few people are having the same problem without solution so far...

But you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of Media Player, and downloading the latest updates for Windows.

The first time you play the files, you should be connected to the internet to obtain the licenses. Then it should ask you if you want to bkup the license, which you should do. It puts it in your My Music folder somewhere, but if this folder is moved it won't be able to find the licenses anymore.

Had a similar error message last year. Updating Internet explorer to 6.0 solved it. Don't ask me more though...

I got them to play, I have all the newest gear on my computer!! I've done a number of searches and found nothing on this error, and MS is useless. How did they play? Well I use XP and I have it set up so two user accounts are set up to use XP, I want into my girlfriends account and they played. I think this maybe some sorta codecs problem on my account.

Glad you fixed it. Different accounts access different settings I think - perhaps the licenses have been downloaded to her account and not yours and you are denied access from yours?

I simply pasted 'Windows Media Player Error message C00D274C' into google and got several replies - but mostly just forums where people were saying they were having troubles and did anyone know how to fix it. Perhaps you could reply to one or 2 and pass on what you did?

Yeah, I did the search also with no luck, just many frustrated people. I'll defintely go and explain what I did on some of the boards. Still really if they did not have the settings like me I'm not sure what could have been done?? Maybe setting up another account thru XP and play the tracks thru there would work?? (I may even see if that does work) I still think it has something to do with missing codec files on my windows media player, but I'm not sure 100%. I would love to know what caused it to begin with. Take care.

Kind of hard to explain, but all you need to do is lower your Security Settings on your Computer for the first play, to obtain the Licences, then it will play. I had the same problem the first time I tried to Download something from there.

The best thing I've found i've found is getting the licences & burning a cd-r of the songs from Media 10 player & ripping then back on to your computer biggrin

I got so sick of windows media player problems. I had version 10, but was always running into problems playing certain songs. I couldn't even play a song today that was an MP3! It kept giving me an error, saying that this file type wasn't supported.

I ended up downloading winamp, and am not having any of those problems. All files are playing fine.
