Prince has a staff member who reads and throws away 99.9 percent of fanmail so it's probable that as a rule they don't sign for any fanmail since they will be throwing it away anyway. Plus celebrities always worry about someone sending them something and then suing them for stealing and idea or whatever so a signed confirmation slip is probably a no-no.

Why would you get angry that your fanmail wasn't accepted? You must have known it was an extreme longshot that Prince would ever see it. He does have a lot of fans who write a lot of crazy ass letters.

Has anyone ever written 2 Prince, and got the letter refused?

The first one I sent was signed by AL.
I send another letter 2 Prince via delivery door 2 door and a confirmation was required, ( signature) , only my second one: it was delivered 2 times but refused both times and I thought it was in the ST. Paul Post office but I just got the letter back via ( return 2 sender).

Has anyone ever tried 2 send a letter and had this happen?
Do u think Prince knows about it or is it his peeps who work 4 him?

When I got the letter back, at first, i was angry and sad and I wanted 2 post, but I didn't cause maybe it was just his peeps, so as not 2 disrespect him by blabbing about it on the board. so Prince if u c this, no disrespect 2 u, Mani or ur staff at all , but i am just curious.

I am not a member bcause I don't want 2 use a credit card online. But can someone plz ask?
THANX MAD

I bet prince never sees the day of light with anyones fans mail to him.its not like his people as you say,get to it b4 prince does.Prince has people set up to catch the mail & has them sort thru what it exspected & whats not & i bet he calls our mail {junk mail}.your just one of many that try to write him.i never have tryed to write him because im just one of many that will get turned away.if you ever did get a reply then it would be a stamp & not an actual signing from him personally. But overall your wasteing your time. But if you have nothing better to do with your time then by all means keep writeing him.you might get lucky & they might think its a note they have been exspecting & it might get thru.I douth it thuo.

Bye.

I saw a phone-in tv interview video of a Today show that Prince did back when he was The Artist. Someone rang up and asked why he didn't have an address fans could send letters to - his reply that back near the beginning of his career, he had one fan who sent him letters all the time and he even used to reply, but eventually they got very obsessive and even turned up at his door, so since then he has tried to maintain a certain distance from fans.

I think it's a little naive to expect your letters would be read by Prince - you can assume that even as it is he gets hundreds of fan letters sent to Paisley Park, do you think he has time to sit there and read them all? Wouldn't you rather him concentrate on communicating to his fans via his music? At the very least people like him employ people to vet the letters and only bring the important ones to his attention.

Have you seen that Simpson's episode where Ringo is still opening and answering fan mail from 20 years ago?!

MAybe I've wanted someone 2 finally "acknowledge me" and i thought he was it.no xplanation needed.

That comes across as a bit sad - I think your emotional state is always vulnerable if you need someone to acknowledge you - waiting for someone to raise you up or tear you down. I think it is a lot better to have an independent mind and believe in yourself and what you're doing no matter what anyone says.

If Prince is your inspiration for songwriting, well he's legendary for going his own way and ignoring the advice of others!
