Even 1.99 is a good price 4 all u NON-members. SUPPORT PRINCE, SHEILA E., ECT DONT STEAL THERE MUSIC ESPICALLY WHEN ITS SO DANG CHEEP!!!!! i don't intend on 'stealing' anything, but since i already taped the awards show a few weeks back, i don't feel the need to pay two bucks for something i can only watch on my computer, when i already have a version of it on tape that i can watch on my big ol' tv set. this doesn't appeal to me, and i don't think it's a particularly good deal. one man's trash is another man's treasure. go figure. Oh im sorry that u thought i was pointing my finger at you (the stealing part) that was ment for the people who didnt get to c it and/or record it. if they want to c it they dont need to b stealing from a person that they CLAIM to b a fan of (espically for 1.99 if you cant aford that there is no reason 4 you to b paying for the internet). and as 4 recording it MORE POWER 2 u as i my self recorded the show but i choose to also download it.

"...Of course if I don't want to pay, I won't pay. That's simple. That is a given. But just because I have the "choice" to pay or not pay doesn't mean I cannot or should not voice my opinion. So I guess I would throw your comment right back in your face and say "if you're happy paying for something that is essentially free" then don't worry about anyone else complaining - be happy paying for what you get..."
I am happy for having it for free--and the chance to buy it. I wasn't the one complaining. I am just responding to the fact that you seem to think NPGMC is trying to rip you off. I don't think that it is totally ridiculous to charge less than $5 bucks for the convenience of watching that TV performance--w/o having to do the work to obtain it...especially if you didn't get a chance to tape it or cannot find it on the internet. I just don't think NPGMC charging for it is THAT big of a deal and am interested in why you do..... You could download Prince bootlegs free from a file sharing service. Would you complain if Prince/NPGMC offered the same songs up at $.99 apiece??? "New Power slide...."

Now you know good and well, they would bitch and moan to no end about that. Hell, they'd complain if Prince came to their house and played 'em all live and for free! I've learned to ignore most of it because some folks simply are just never satisfied and frankly will never be. [Edited 4/8/05 6:50am]

What a joke. This had to have been the most stale, lame, unfunky performance Prince has done in years! Must have missed the fluid and gorgeous Santana like guitar at the end then, huh ? The sheer intensity of 8mins to the end is completely stunning. And the class and energy of the percussion playing alone deserves an award - that's what music should be about. IMHO.

Pfffff...stale, lame and unfunky?...why? tis performance is incredible; maybe DMSR and Housequake have been done better..but hey..no reason to call it lame..Sheila was great, Satisfy was great, The guitar solo was great, this woman (who sings ur no good) gave me chills...as does the bird....no..this performances was fun, soulfull and full of good spirits...

The main mistake of the performance I think, was that too soon after beginning with DMSR Prince lets 2 unheard-ofs sing 2 songs by other artists - it spoils the flow of the show for people who were expecting a Prince performance of Prince songs. It's like, why can't Prince be bothered to sing those songs himself? You just count the seconds until he starts singing again. I imagine people were just looking round at each other going, 'eh? what's going on? Are we supposed to know who these new singers are?'

Right...well call it a matter of taste; i don't know who they are either, and did they sing unrealesed songs? or where it all covers?...anywayz...i looked at the show now several times and i think it is incredible (and i have seen a lot of Prince things before) strong performance...

I live in the UK, so was very happy to get to see this clip in decent quality and more than happy to pay the money.
I did see it previously on housequake, for free, in a postage stamp sized window. I saw it in all it's streaming, stuttering glory. The pauses were nasty and I'm on a 2meg connection. If I had been bothered to search for it, I am sure that I could have found a better version somewhere for free. It would have been illegal though and would have cost me more than $1.77 in terms of my time. I am happy for the people that are happy to have it for free. Can't you all be happy for us that are happy to pay for it? How much is $1.77 really? I could get a newspaper and a can of coke perhaps? Let's put it in a little perspective. Don't want to pay, then don't. RIP
