Plus you can buy tickets whenever he is touring way before anyone esle and get some primo seats. I like the cyberclips room too. Also I just have this feeling that they are going to be doing even more with this site in the near future. Peace THE CARDINAL HAS SPOKEN!!!

I was thinking for the tickets alone it would be worth it, and then I looked at the downloads and now I really think it's worth it..
Thanks | |

yeah, this question gets asked a lot, but for some reason i'm always happy to answer it. maybe the NPGMC forum needs a sticky, i dunno...
i think NPGMC can appear to be a bit of a hard sell during "fallow" periods such as right now, but when prince has something to promote, membership in NPGMC is just about always a good thing. after last year's tour, i can definitely say that my club membership more than paid for itself, just from being able to order tix from the club without having to pay ticketmaster fees. there's no way i could have afforded to go to as many shows as i did, not to mention being able to take someone with me, if not for the ability to buy tix without ridiculous fees attached. i think being a member when nothing's going on is a good thing to do, because you'll have that much more of a jump on when things actually do start creaking into motion...my only advice is to just take it for what it's worth - it's prince's site, which he runs his way, which means of course it will bring with it its share of eccentricities. but that's why we love the ol' loon, right?

if you don't mind, what did you pay for a ticket? never more than $75 a ticket...i think i paid $60 or $65 a couple of times. mind you, i always had great seats, and i even got front row for two of the six shows i saw last year.

Honestly speaking it could be better! I hang out more here and over at HQ than I do at the club. Shhh!! Don't tell NPGMC that though! I think they're getting touchy about that!
Anyway, having a membership is worth it's weight in gold!! First crack at great seats to his shows, no more camping out on the street 2 days ahead of time just to end up 40 rows back because the scalpers beat you to the good seats. The fee's a one-time thing, no more renewing memberships. I enjoy checking out the Reflection and VIP Rooms, sometimes there's something in there well worth the trip. [Edited 2/10/05 12:40pm]

Please don't take that to mean there is some special $75 maximum ticket price for members. That just happened to be the price for the shows Anxiety saw and was no different for club members than it was for the public, with the exception of Ticketbastard fees. Folks who have belonged to the club since the beginning have paid quite a variety of ticket prices, into the hundreds of dollars; whatever Prince decides to charge. Eileen

It was pricey, but ehm going to soundcheck was an awesome experience.

Plus as a member you get the download albums from the Musicology store for slightly cheaper, $7.77 instead of $9.99 - so if you joined before you download them, you basically eat back a substantial amount of your membership if you want them all...

He'd be this big...maybe I'm not so sure about that....I bought NPGMC member's tickets for 4 shows, and while the seats were AMAZING, front row, kick-ass seats for the first of those shows, for the next 3 me and my guest were always on the floor, but all 3 times we were right behind either the drums or the keyboard stand - always something!! For the last of the regular shows I went to, I decided to buy tickets from TicketBastard, since quite honestly I was majorly disappointed at the member's tickets I had gotten - sitting through an entire show not being able to see Prince AT ALL when you're that close to the stage just SUCKED. Anyway, so I bought regular non-NPGMC tickets for the St. Paul concert, and I had the best seats yet - man I wish I had seats like that when I took my father, my brother and my sister - but unfortunately those were the concerts where we had the NPGMC obstructed view seats. Bummer. The TicketBastard seats (which, granted, DOES include their ridiculous surcharge and processing fees) were right off the floor, CENTER STAGE. I had by far the best view of Prince and the rest of the band. Plus, just knowing that I had these seats without having to stress about WHERE my NPGMC seats were going to be was worth paying the extra fees. (When you buy through the club, you don't find out where your seats are until you arrive at the venue.) I just wanted to provide another perspective re: the NPGMC ticketing process. It seems that most members who post here were much more happy with their seats than I was, so I don't necessarily think my experience was the norm....just disappointing. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I've never been convinced about concerts in the round - sure, some fans get incredibly close, but there's also bound to be times you can't see Prince because he's on the other side - a standard stage, nobody gets super close but more people get an equal view for the whole show. Plus, I reckon having to run from one side to the other must be more exhausting, it's bound to effect the performance, and leaves you a little disconnected from the band members who also are roaming around. Though Prince managed to pull it off, it seems he needed a big rest after the tour! [Edited 2/18/05 3:51am]

Really, I only paid the fee to join so I could get tickets. When he finally went on tour, and didn't come anywhere even remotely close to where I live, I could've cried.
Unless he bothers to bring his show anywhere near here, I think I've wasted my money. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
