I just can't do it.

I have tried and given the effort but I can't stand haning out at the NPGMC. The vibe there is sooooo different than it is here. Too much religious ideology and not enough individuality. I just aint feelin that place.

Thank God for Prince.org! woot!

You know what a few months ago I would have agreed with you but, from my recent experiences, it doesnt seem like that anymore.

To me it finally seems as if they have been 'put in their place'...now they dont seem to do anything or say anything unless they have soemthing to offer...eg new vids.

That might just be my view of it and,as I only go there after hearing on here that there is something new, Im probbaly not getting the full picture.

The main difference is freedom of speach, here you xcan say pretty much what is on your mind whereas,at NPGMC, it has to fit in with their agenda.

Not necessarily. I think the biggest thing everyone is getting caught up on is the "freedom of speech". It seems you can pretty much say anything you want to over there as long as it's the appropiate time, place and manner... the only thing that they request is that you don't curse. The language might not be as colorful over there, but it's a repsectable practice.

There's still stuff that weirds me out but I am hanging out there more & more lately. I feel balanced having both lol One is overwhelmingly positive, the other isn't so much "negative" as it is not SO concerned w/ the man himself. But who cares, bring on the music dammit exclaim
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Like Anx once said, I think it's cool that there is a place where P is respected 100% of the time.

Well I think that the moderation at the NPGMC plays in favoritism, one member can say something risque and get away with it where as, another may not and then be banned.

I have no problem with having respect for Prince he is a musician I respect, but his website sucks and the moderators should be fired, to allow for a fair and balanced playing field.

I think there also needs to be a separation of religion and music, as well as religion and politics this country is damn conservative.

If I want to be preached to I'll buy the appropriate music at that time wink

sometimes truly 'respecting' someone means voicing an opinion which is critical. i got the impression the NPGMC doesn't much tolerate criticism of prince.

then again i haven't even been there in about six months. ..

Of course you can be critical on there. This is a thread by MrBliss from September of this year...

The key quote from this thread IMHO was...

Eye would say again that xpressing a negative (i.e. disapproving or disappointing) reaction 2 his music can be done here without any problem. People will react all kinds of ways 2 music and should talk about it. It can be done very easily in a respectful way 2 other members and 2 Prince.

This thread is still available to post on. It was not moved, locked or deleted, contrary to popular belief that does not happen all the time on there. Neither will you be forced to drink Purple Kool-Aid, while the latest issue of the Watchtower is flashed up in front of your eyes 100 times a second. wink

You should log in more often, seriously. The org and NPGMC are not mutually exclusive.

i know they're not mutually exclusive. i really like the music room where the various mixes are up for play. and i do like the artwork.

but the stuff that ends up on my computer after a visit to the NPGMC is amazing. have you checked that out? scan your computer's temp/cache/ etc after a visit. i used to find an amazing amount of stuff.

but you're right i should go there again sometime soon.
