The seating for members is excellent. Main floor surrounding the stage which is in the round, making for more seats up close. I had 4th row seats, behind Blackwell's kit. No plastic passes. I think that some cities had free entry to after shows, but in Minneapolis it was at Paisley Park and cost extra (for charity?).

This is not like the One Night Alone tour. You get great seats. That's it.

Great seats but the sound can be a problem depending on where your seats are located. And I got to meet him at the after-party in NYC. Worth it.

Here's the deal:

Laminates, free soundcheck access, and free aftershows for members were all on the One Nite Alone tour in 2002. Remember though, it was $100 for a 1 year only membership back then too. And, the tickets for the One Nite Alone shows (at least in LA) were $125 each. To me, that price was worth it for the free soundcheck, free aftershow, and fantastic concert. By the way, members and 1 guest got to choose where they sat for this show!!!

All the Musicology shows on the other hand offer a totally different member experience. As you know, membership is $25 now, and that's for a lifetime (not just 1 year). So, not as much is included as before as far as soundchecks, aftershows, etc. Any aftershows that DO take place on this tour are either announced after the concert and then you just head over to the venue and pay the same amount to get in as everybody else OR he has done some "planned" aftershows on this tour (i.e. House of Blues in LA) where the tix went on sale on the NPGMC first and then on TM later. Still the same price though for members and non-members - its just that the members get first dibs on the tix due to the club presale.

I predict that once this tour is over and things settle down, P will play random shows at random times, mostly in smaller venues for a while. This is when the membership really comes in handy, cuz you can be really up close and personal with P in these small venues, and with first dibs on all tix, you can easily end up 5 feet away from the man (as I was at The Fillmore in SF back in February)..... razz

P.S. By the way....I got two 3rd row floor seats at the opener on 3/29 in LA!!!

nodWOW ! ! It could not have typed it any more completely as above. I was in L.A. for the 14 HR PRINCE marathon on the O.N.A. tour. 1st row & 6th row for 2 soundchecks & 2 main shows & in the front at the 2 aftershows!!. I FEEL that I was much CLOSER to PRINCE on the 2002 ONA tour than this recent tour.....This tour IS for the masses (not a bad thing)..CONGRATS!!..& well, the One Nite Alone tour was ONE NITE ALONE With PRINCE....
To Prince & The Band.....THANK U! worship

IMO, the $25 has been worth every penny... great seats (row 1, 2, 2, 8, 9, 12, and two times Fillmore)

Comparing this year with ONA is stupid

I agree with you. I think the $25 has been worth it AND I felt that the two years that I paid the $100 was also worth it.

The only reason I even brought up the ONA tour was because the first post on this thread asked about soundcheck access, free aftershows, etc. I think people that have only "heard" about those membership benefits get confused as to why those benefits aren't being offered on this tour, etc.

Yes, the Musicology tour is a totally different experience than the ONA tour and I for one am glad that I had the opportunity to see both nutty
