It's Possible but they don't make it simple ;0)

First make sure Explorer is your DEFAULT browser. To do this - u need to go into Safari>Preference and select it this way.

Then follow the NPGMC instructions.

Once it's downloaded you need to add the .wma extension to the file. The play it - it will get the authorization and then play.

Easy when you know how.

gavki's right -- you can do it if you're running OS X. Follow what gavki said above. When you attempt to play the file, this is what will happen:

1. Windows Media Player will open.
2. Explorer will then open, and should take you to a page that says "you have received a DRM license to play this file. Click the play button below." However, there will NOT be a play button to click.
3. So, just quit Explorer, and re-open the .wma file. Windows Media Player will open and will play the file from that point forward.

Oh...and another bummer...you cannot burn CDs using Windows Media Player for OS X. There are ways to do it if you want to break the DRM license, which is technically illegal but is something that NPGMC have said is okay to do if you're doing it for your own use.

When I burned a CD my files would not play else where. What should I do?

i'm on a mac, and i have my default set to IE. once i've downloaded the song, tyr to play it, i get the "license" message. I'll try to play the clip again, and it works. you have to keep that license window open...do not close IE.

As far as burning songs, I use a program called "audio hijack pro". basically it takes over Windows media Player, and converts the file to something more acceptable, ie a wave or mp3. just remember, when using this program, you still need to have the "license" window open in IE. This method works well for me, I'm jammin all the new tunes on my IPOD, so it's all good.

If you're running Panther, you may want to add OS 9.x to your system. I think that installing Panther removes Classic. Anyway, I was having trrouble with the downloads. So much so that I haven't even heard any of the new stuff yet. This weekend, I reinstalled Classic to run another program that wasn't compatible with OS X. Lo and behold, I clicked on one of the NPGMC downloads, and it happened just as people are saying here. I don't know why, but the only thing that was different was the fact that I reinstalled Classic. So, there ya go. If it isn't working no matter what you do, you may want to pull out the mac discs and get Classic on board again, and have it running in the background.

Hmm...that is weird. I removed OS 9 from my Powerbook a year ago and haven't had any problem with licensing from the club (running Panther since last October).
