and as of Nero 6.3.1.6, you should be able to burn WMA files with DRM

Also, if you purchased the video, they included an audio file as well, right?

You should be able to burn the audio file to CD through the media player.

I've read in a seperate forum that Nero doesn't support DRM?

Some DVD players can play whats known as VCD or SVCD discs. These are basically movies encoded into MPEG or MPEG-2 and burned to a regular CD-R. There are some specific settings you need to have the MPEGs encoded at for them to work as a VCD or SVCD, but many programs like Nero can do this for you automatically.

Theoretically, you would need to re-encode the WMV files to the proper MPEG format then burn them to CD, and if your DVD player plays VCDs, they would work.

But I believe the NPGMC files use Digital Rights Management, which may block those WMV files from being reencoded into another format.

Dauphin, where do you see on that link that DRM support is now included.....you had a brother all fired up, but I didn't see anything on that link you gave. Nero hates my DRM files.....Boo!

Also, from my understanding, DRM technology pretty much prevents direct copies. Am I mistaken???

Changes from Nero 6.3.0.3 to 6.3.1.6
Release Date: 03-18-2004

Features Added
Nero Burning ROM/Nero Express 6:

Added support for Digital Rights Management enabled WMA files

These are the audio files I guess. I thought it was the WMV too, but that wasn't listed.

To sum it up, it's up to the content provider to determine what kind of rights it wants to give you. It can be used to set the amount of times you can listen to a CD, watch a video, burn a copy of the video/audio, copy the video/audio to another location on the HD (or another HD), length of calander time that you have to listen/watch the media, etc.
