JW Material,oops religious, passed out

I was lucky to have 2 rows seats for the 6/25/04 chicago show. The seats where located right in front where the horn section plays and near on of the understage entrances where the band chill out during their break.

Prince and the band went understage after the the second part od the show. Then Prince decided to walk a round the stage edges, at floor level, and pass out JW literature.

Has he done this on other shows?

BTW i got one

Wow, you mean to tell me he handed out JW material, I guess that is one way to spread the word. I am pretty sure that he did not do this in Minneapolis. However if I were in the front and received some JW material from Prince, I would keep it, just like if he were to knock on my door wanting to share his religion with me, I'd definately let him in, star struck and all... cloud9

I'd decline it and say "Jesus is Lord!"

Hmmmph. Interesting...I'm not sure what I would have done had he handed some material to me.

I'd politely accept it but I don't second that notion. I know he is deep inside his religious and spiritual journey but honestly I have my own spiritual journey too. Anyway he doen't force us.

I won't second that motion anyway.

Prince didn't do that at the Cleveland show, but I think he did it at the St. Louis venue.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

i'm not sure what i'd do if prince himself handed me something like that. i've dodged those handouts plenty of times before but i might feel compelled to take one from prince, if he offered it directly to me under those circumstances. but, i'd feel really uncomfortable

maybe people in the front rows should bring poetry and philosophy leaflets by people like lao tsu and gibran and ghandi to future concerts and trade them for the watchtower leaflets biggrin

he passed out the JW pamphlets at the Nashville aftershow to a group of about 10-15 fans that were talking with him behind the venue after the aftershow. He gave one to me, my daughter and my husband.

I personally don't like this. If he gave me some JW stuff,I'd take it,I'd even listen 2 what he had 2 say,but ONLY bcuz it was coming from HIM. It would'nt make me convert by any means. As long as he was'nt rude about it...whatever

On local radio they were discussing the whole privacy camera lawsuit thing - "How can a man who knocks on people's doors asking them to change religion talk about violation of privacy?" lol

I personally think this is going too far. If he wants to change the lyrics to his songs that's his business. However people are paying $$$ to hear him play NOT to receive JW material.

Reminds me of a recent Santana show I went to. That guy must have spent 20 minutes talking about mumbo jumbo stuff like electricity, elizabeth taylor, "parasites in the brain", etc... during his show to the ENTIRE audience. I guess that's worse than getting religious pamphlets.

Great comment, thanks for posting it MrSquiggle clapping
That going door to door really is damn annoying and a violation of people's privacy nod. If I had the choice of either having taken a photo of me on the street or a member of any religion knocking on my door I'd definitely prefer to have my photo taken nod

I don't mind if someone comes knocking on my door with a million dollar check (hey, that won't happen frequently and I am quite sure if I once rejected they would never try again lol), but I do care if someone is stealing my time trying to convince me that he has found "the truth" which is just a lie IMO. I don't bother knocking on other people's doors to tell them what I think is right or wrong and it would be nice if others would respect my privacy as well. Sadly some people don't do that!
