My memphis show review

Whassup peeps...

I just got back from home from Memphis. I will try to do my best to give a review.

I left middle tennessee for memphis around 1pm and arrived in Memphis about 3:30 pm.

I got my room in West Memphis, AR and after relaxing, I grabbed a bite to eat and showered and headed back across the mighty mississippi to the pyramid around 7 pm. I was able to find parking for $5 only 3 blocks from the pyramid. Once inside, I made a quick stop at the merchandise table and purchased a symbol necklace. It was very hot (92 degrees), humid and stormy in memphis, which made for muggy conditions in the pyramid. I made a pit stop at the concession stand for a soda and headed to my seat in sec. 139. I attended last month's show in Nashville and I must say that this show made the one at the Gaylord seem like poo poo! This by far, was a better show IMHO. So, twin cities get ready, the little man is hyped up. Last night he was full of energy and the show was crazy!

I will do my best to remember the setlist but, I know I will forget some songs. So here goes, in no particular order...

I remember hearing Jam of the year, sexy dancer and cool played over the PA with video montage of Prince and npg on video screens. Around 8 pm the lights were completely lowered and the video for call my name was shown. I like the video, this was the first time that I saw it.

I agree that Memphis was better than Nashville. Memphis was more like the Nashville aftershow - much looser. I also saw Birmingham - the crowd was soo into it in Bham but Prince seemed more into it in Nashville. We actually met him later that night and a few members of the staff told us he was in an unusually great mood. But he seemed even better in Memphis - but sadly, no aftershow. The Nashville aftershow was great. We got to meet everyone except Candy after the aftershow.

More from this show...

3 outfit changes

1. black assymetrical coat
white shirt
white pants
white boots

white hat during when doves cry

and at some point the black coat was removed and the white shirt was very very unbuttoned (so much for old skin) ha ha ha smile

calm down zelaira smile

2. red shirt w/ white polka dots Or diamonds
red pants
red boots

handsnaps would have been proud smile

3. teal suit with fringes and matching teal boots

those platform sneakers did not make their appearance in memphis thank goodness, (I'm sorry Prince but, I'm not diggin' the sneaks)

It was all about the heels last night and little man was dancing his butt off!

he played 4 guitars

1.hohner
2.baby blue strat
3.purple acoustic
4.purple symbol

he also played a black bass and at one point was on his knee beating a drum with one stick

I also noticed that maceo, greg and mike all wore caps and gowns during one song and that Mike P (i think it was him) did some singing with a talk box

I want to give shout outs to anyone who was on the floor, npgmc representin and tennessee peeps who made my first concert experience at the pyramid a great one. This truly the best performance I have seen thus far. Section 139 was hype and the whole place was live! One closing remark....when Prince said thank you good night before the encore, some people heading out but, I guess they were not sure if the show was over. Everyone was yelling and the prince chant was going. He made us wait forever but, those people did not go back to their seats and they lined both sides of the pyramid and all the exits. Standing! It was a great thing to see. The encore was awesome. Much love to Prince and the npg

Peace and b wild!

I got to go to the PRINCE concert in Memphis and it was sooooo awesome!!! This is my second Prince concert in Memphis, I went to one a couple of years back and it was nothing like the one the other night There were a ton of people at the one this summer and just amazing. I was in section 129 lower level and there were times I just wanted to laugh and cry, it was such a great and crazy and somewhat spiritual experience. I am 20 years old and my aunt got me into Prince music. She was also there and had a seat on the floor. I am trying to get tickets to go to the Houston, TX concerts in August. I truly AdOrE Prince! Memphis rocked, my section was dancing and singin and there was no way I could leave without hearing him sing Purple Rain....he didn't let me down. It was just so awesome being in a place with so many people who admire Prince just as much as I do...Prince lovers everywhere!!! I hope I get to go to another one of his concerts this summer, it's so sad to think of this as a farewell tour...at least for me. I miss his old music, but his new style is awesome!! Musicology is always playin either in my room or my car! This will defintely be the summer that Prince is always in my mind...ILOVEHIM!!!
