DC shows password change

Did anyone else get held up buying tickets for the D.C. shows because of an invalid password? NPGMC changed the password posted on the site at the last minute or after the tickets already were on sale. I was held up for 5 minutes trying to figure out the password. This sucks!

everybody thinks that if they had been able to login 5 seconds earlier they would have gotten front row, Prince would pull them onstage, and they would become best friends. GET OVER IT! I don't want to hear another person complain about how they ONLY got fifth row. razz

here's a question for anyone who got tickets to DC...did anyone get rows AA or BB...nobody seems to know if those rows will exist for the show...the reason I ask is that I'm just wondering what row I'm really in...For example, Row A could very well be 3rd row, if Rows AA & BB will be in place...
Peace Out, Trout!!

I'm sure someone got tix in those rows, but I haven't heard from the yet! What row(s) are you in?

More b.s. I actually got held up about 30 minutes before I went back and found the new password. (Some of us actually have jobs--and can't spend our whole life discerning the latest NPGMC screw-up.) The only thing left for the Saturday show was row M, which is half-way up the orchestra.

bottom line be dis....

they said that the passwords could change at any time. and honestly, i would have RATHER them changed it at the last minute and make sure that the actual MEMBERS who were ONLINE at that time got it.

can you imagine all the people who were NOT MEMBERS that were probably "TOLD" what the password was the night before and logged on to get tickets? yes, they would have gotten their tickets revoked, but only after they had purchased the entire freakin floor!!

so.. P probably gave the actual password to his peeps, they bought the first few rows, and then they changed the site to reflect it.

if you goin... then you goin!

SHUTUP ALREADY, DAMN!

The bottom line do not be dis!

The reason the password changed is not for the reason you stated; it's because somebody at NPGMC or Ticketmaster screwed up entering it. That is utter bullshit!

I FRICKIN' LINKED TO TICKETMASTER FROM NPGMC AFTER 10 AM AND THE WRONG PASSWORD WAS LISTED--DO YOU GET IT?!? EXPLAIN THE LOGIC IN THAT! (sorry for going all caps on your arse!) Are we supposed to get extra credit as NPGMC members 'cause we have computer hacking skills and can figure out "variations" on passwords until we "crack" the code? If I was that intelligent, I wouldn't be listening to someone who's idea of lyricism is "the opposite of NATO is OTAN."

P don't have no peeps in DC by the way, except lame has-beens like Donnie Simpson who ask for tickets and then dis him the next week on his show once P leaves town.

SPOILED?!?

Let's recap. We paid $100. We get four CDs. We also get the "right" to buy items at inflated NEWFUNK prices?

About $40 of our membership value is in the right to get presales. If I pay $40 to buy tickets before all the other clowns in DC (who will be whining--"play Doves Cry!"), I expect my money's worth.

I don't need their bullshit screw-ups. I had enough in 1997 waiting 12 months for them to find the post-it note at Paisley Park where they wrote my Crystal Ball order.

FeelUUp--you need to edit your post, and replace the word Ticketmaster with NPGMC.

Spotpea--you were able to figure out their little mind game, for which i give you mad props. Some of us have reduced brain activity right now because we are still trying to figure what the hell OTAN is!

Here is why the latest F'up today is important, and you are not a whiner to complain about it:

Presumably, EVERYONE who purchased tickets today is an NPGMC member. Thus, I have no problem being in the very back of the NPGMC section, as long as the non-members are behind me.

Here is the problem though: There are three shows in DC. Ideally, all of the members should have been able to log on at the same time, pick ONE show for which they wanted great seats, and then get progressively worse seats as they bought tix for the second or third shows. Then all of us would get a chance to be near the stage for at least one show.

Instead, what happened is that all the "MENSA" members who figured out taking out the damn dash in the password (I only thought of lowercasing it--silly me) got great seats for all three shows, while others like me got mediocre seats.

Frankly, I probably could have waited until Saturday and got nearly the same seats I got. Bottom line--there really is no need for the never-ending incompetence that always plagues these pre-sales.

We r going to be the only happy people at the show from the looks of it. I got burned at first with the password, but just dropped the dash and scored the row AA, seat 105 for Sat. It was impossible to get good seats for all three shows, since they all went on sale at the same moment!!!

I settled for 6th row Friday and 3rd on Sunday. I'm cool with it all. I'm broke, but happy.

THIS IS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM! By the time I saw the corrected password, YOU had bought tickets to all three shows. I'm sitting way the hell behind you (and off to the very side) for EACH show! That is bullshit. It's a freakin' violation of the membership agreement IMHO.

Well, when you're trying to purchase tickets while on a conference call with a client, you don't have time to try every variation. I figured they hadn't cleared the password yet, so I waited until later (which is what the error message basically told you to do).

Some of us follow instructions, and expect those instructions to be correct.
