Dallas is Funky!! I just got back from the Dallas Show. I live near Austin.
Not able to go to the official Eryka Badu After Party.( My son has a Baseball Tourney tommorow) The Show was Incredible. I was at the San Antonio Show 2 nights ago. It was Awesome. But this Dallas Show Even MORE AWESOME, INCREDIBLE. He said we caught him on a good night, He didn't lie. I am not real good with alot of Details. I know some things that were different from the San Antonio show were Mr. Man, On the Couch, and the first time I ever heard Somthin in the Water Live.He also Played ADORE after we convinced him we were ready. In San Antonio he just teased us and said weren't ready for Adore. The crowd in Dallas once again came thru big time with much respect. Maceo and Renato did a tribute to Ray Charles with Georgia during a mini -break very nice I wish I could give more details. This show was funkier than the April show also. I also was right in Front of Rhonda, I am officially in Love with her. I mad a huge mistake and did not order the second Houston show tickets. I could really use some help. I have 2 tickets for the first Houston Show, Could Split with someone to go to both nights. Please Help. Dallas "What's the hurry 2 die without tryin?

THe show was amazing!!!!!
I was in section 21 in front of Maceo and Candy Candy is cute! So is Rhonda I made eye contact with everyone Except Renato ( he couldnt see me) especially Prince and he returned the favor I thought it was so cute when Prince said "Schools in session" and the horns came out in cap & gowns I looked at Rhonda & Candy and they looked like they were really amazed by his guitar skills prince loves dallas....we love u too "What if I called you silly names, just like the ones that you call me"

First show was better: Prince got kissed on stage, badu came on stage, sound was better, acoustic set is better at the end
Second show: shorter, acoustic set was longer, should have been at the end, one encore, American Airlines Staff was being an ass this time around, Maceo Parker tribute was FIRE, Candy should stop singing

I thought the second show was 30 minutes longer??? oh and the guy in the purple pimp suit was so drunk and disgusting
I dont care if the acoustic is in the middle or end,I enjoy it The sound was little bit off A sound guy kept running on stage My boyfriend enjoyed the 1st show better because all of the spontaneous moments But Im just blessed to see Prince at all "What if I called you silly names, just like the ones that you call me"

sounds like mudbuttelbino just doesnt like prince, I read some of the other comments in other threads.....get over it man!!.....Anyway, I saw both Dallas concerts and the one in San Antonio, I think the San Antonio show was better than both dallas shows, he interacted with the crowd more, and was just overall alot better. The 1st Dallas show was better than the 2nd one IMO, He really didnt make any changes other than "Dear Mr. Man" in the acoustic set. I did enjoy it though, very much. But i didnt get my "free" cd when i cam into the arena, I had to piss so bad i was not even thinkin of it and before i knew it , I was like, WHERE DID IT GO? O well I got like 4 anyway!! I might go to the one in HOUSTON. Dont know yet. Anyway it was Funky while it lasted!! Peace

Second show: shorter, acoustic set was longer, should have been at the end, one encore, American Airlines Staff was being an ass this time around, Maceo Parker tribute was FIRE, Candy should stop singing Amen to the AAC staff being jerks! Two separate ushers placed me in the 3rd to the last row (25-30 rows back) on the floor for the first 45 minutes of the concert. Why did I think the club was punishing me for a post regarding my seats at the 1st show, because all the people around me had ticketmaster tickets????? ( I was about to cuss you Blue Angel.....my apologies! LOL) Thankfully, a competent one escorted me and my 1st timer mother to the 5th row center stage ...less than 15ft from the stage on Candy's side. (Maybe they did notice my "constructive" post...lol) I'm soooo pissed because of course, the gorgeous Rhonda never came back to our edge of the stage, after the beginning. Big boo for that!!!! Otherwise, the wide-eyed look in Mom's eyes the first time Prince came over, made up for my personal disappointment. I think he won himself a new fan now, she was out giving out the CD's we got already.....spreading the word. Personally, I was more excited on the first show, but liked the 2nd better. For me, the show seemed longer (15minutes late by my count, 30 minutes longer) and tighter, the wardrobe was coordinated this time, and the Ray Charles tribute was outstanding. Also, I was floored on the live versions of Something in the Water & Motherless Child (why did nobody in the club section near me seem to know these, and give little response to them????). The crowd was better the first time, but I guess like me, most already knew what to expect. Otherwise, the only thing from the first I missed was Badu's flavor in the show. Questions for those in the know.....whats the deal with the flat red shoes, Mom's was trippin over that.....also, are those real diamonds on the white heels he wore for the acoustic set? Them things were blinding me with all that bling (and I hate jewelery too!)!!!!! ______________________________________

Them things were blinding me with all that bling (and I hate jewelery too!)!!!!! Man, I'm glad my xperience wasn't as bad as urs (especially for the seating situation). I was in section 19 Row B seat 2 (right where John, Maceo, Candy, Mike and Chance went on stage. It was kind of funny. The AAC security that was watching the gate was an older white gentleman (about 50). He had ear plugs in and I could tell he didn't want to be there at all. He refused to tap his foot, bang his head or sing along to anything. Come one, what person doesn't know Purple Rain? Well, the really funny thing was the 2 female security guards that were guarding the stairs behind us. Those 2 sisters got down and sang every song. They had more fun that most of the club members in my section. Codshort, I'm like you, what fan doesn't know "Something In The Water". A lot of them looked like they had never heard that song....ever. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Seriously, I had a good seat and a direct view of the lovely and gifted Rhonda. My seat wasn't on the floor, though. The concert was FANTASTIC! Anybody go to the Afterparty? What about the "special guests" that were mentioned on the flyers? And what was up with the flyers advertising a completely different "official afterparty" that were strewn on the ground outside?

I was bowled over when he busted out those 2 tracks during the acoustic set. It always cracks me up when I can sing along 2 a track that no 1 else around can recall...it's almost like it's our own private little secret....I wanna look at them and ask..."U call urself a PRINCE FAN ???" ::Official Member of the 1978-1995 Club::

Ok Ok give it up DALLAS is the SHHHHIIIITTTTT
the crowd was fantastic!! this one was better than the last. I went to San antonio and Dallas and let me just say even though the shows were similar there was no comparison. The crowd in Dallas is the BEST I have ever been too and I have been to many many many shows. Now on to the after party..... Yes I went and after some sets by some other bands including Nedra.. Erykah's sister which was guitar leadden and LOUD...cool. Erykah came on in her beautiful, glow having, 7 month pregnant glory. I LOVE HER!!!! she sang in that voice and blew us away. at 2 am P was up in the VIP section having been there for a bout an hour? anyway of course while the other bands were on I was watching him. He talked to Erykah while she was sitting up there. then he bounced over to Renato and then he bounced over to some one else then bounced and sat down for a while...yes he was hyper, high in spirits and lokked like he was itchin to go on stage. The Band was tired oh you could tell, candy and rhonda were soo tired. the guys were so tired but P was incredible he was bouncing around talking to people incredible, it was like he took a nap or something. Where in the hell did he get this energy...hell I went to the show too and my ass was dragging. Anyway after Erykah's show, did I say she was incredible? he finally came on they basically did the first part of the show starting with DMSR the band was uncomfortable especially Rhonda because they were using someone else's equipment. P kept going over trying to get Rhonda's amp right. He worked on the sound for a while tweeking here and there and still yelling words out for us to sing and directing the band. He is awesome. anyway he danced sang jumped around and finally after much teasing left the stage. then when they were trying to clear the club he was up in the VIP again and some girls were talking up to him, he threw something down and yelled back he was in a playful mood. when it became apparent that we were not leaving they brought him out through the crowd, it was cool. very cool ok just a note that drunk guy in the purple suit was not drunk, he was our own lo4rboy he got on stage and P asked if we Dallas were claiming him... I am glad he got on stage he's been to a bunch of shows and is going to more. John Blackwell gave me drumsticks for my girls, and talked to us alot (THANKS JOHN) I also got to talk to Chance a bunch at both shows He is soo cool. all in all a great time worth my 25 years of loyalty....but even if it wasn't i'd still be going to houston see yall in august! We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou
