Top moments NOT mentioned about SA 6/9/04

Here are my top moments that have not been mentioned in other threads about the concert in San Antonio Wednesday, June 9:

1. During the period of time when the peeps from the crowd were on stage, there was an adorable young girl on stage (10 or 11 years old) playing the cowbell, and Prince had a lot of fun with her. She was by far the coolest cat on stage!

2. During "Take Me With U," Prince held the mic up to one of the dancers from the crowd to give her a chance to sing, and she didn't know a SINGLE word...not even the chorus. Prince pulled the mic away, looked into the crowd, and mocked her mumbling. It was hilarious. She had on a brown hat, and Prince called her Crocodile Dundee.

3. Maceo Parker back on the tour -- AWESOME.

4. Prince saying, "Can I play my bass guitar?" and then proceeding to knock the hell out of a black bass.

5. During the acoustic set's "After Midnight," Prince changed the lyrics to "San Antonio, are you having a good time?" Then saying that he didn't have a lyric to rhyme with that, and then promptly singing, "I don't have a rhyme" to finish the song. Priceless.

6. New (at least since we saw the show in April in Dallas) stage props, including white streaming banners that were rolled down and blew in the breeze during the encore.

7. Four costume changes. Started the show in a blue suit, disappeared and returned in the same blue suit with an aqua polka dotted shirt, then changed into the white outfit with red polka dots (from the Rolling Stone cover), then changed again into a red suit with a purple handkerchief. Most (if not all) his pants had long fringe.

8. Prince showing that San Antonio "wasn't read for him" by lounging on the couch and being handed the issue of Rolling Stone with him on the cover. He opened it up to his spread and held it above his head, and the part of the crowd that could see it went crazy.

9. "The Death of the Aqua Guitar" -- Prince did an extended solo with his aqua and white guitar. He put it on the ground, let it make noise on its own, then covered it with a white cloth before his guitar tech carried it off the stage for him.

10. The horn section came out for one portion dressed in caps and gowns cuz "school was in."

My wife and I were in floor section F, row 4, with purple t-shirts on!

he also started playing one kiss at a time after Pink Cashmire (like he did at Xenophobia), but he aborted it.

Actually, the band is Deep Purple. The song was Smoke On The Water.

Anyways, I'm surprised no one mentioned what Prince said during Baby I'm A Star. Some dude near the stage was trying to take Prince's pic with his camera phone. Prince said, "Someone take my picture, just not you!" lol

Although, my favorite moment was during Cream, when Prince encouraged everyone to go home, look in the mirror and sing, "You're so good, everything you do is success." cool

He did ‘Death of the Aqua Guitar’ at the Bossier show as well…loved the way he pimp-walked away after covering the guitar. He had a lot of women on the stage dancing during ‘Take Me With You’ and, as in San Antonio, not one of the three he approached knew the words!
