so a longtime fan who doesn't like TRC is now a fair-weather fan? that's bullshit. you're allowed to be a fan and not like something...and since i don't like TRC i'm not subjecting myself to a show full of it.

That's fine. My problem is with people who (i) don't like TRC; (ii) go to the show anyways; and (iii) complain where are the Hits? If Prince had toured in support of RAVE, I might have stayed home as well. But if I had gone, I would have let him play the new material without complaining about it.

another problem-these shows are being promoted by stations that don't play any Prince music past SOTT (the Cleveland station comes to mind) and it's bringing in those casual fans also, the ones that have no idea what TRC is about since it gets no airplay, let alone on a lame Top 40 station.

Spats

You have to give the majority of fans what they want. It's a showbusiness rule. All the greats have done it or do it. That means the hits. Prince will have even less fans after this tour. Purple Rain is prince's "Stairway To heaven". You gotta do it.

This could have been an amazing event to bring people togetehr in song but Prince seemed so juvennile in his seemingly newfound knowledge that a white man before 1860 made a racist comment...shocker! I'll write a song!

Anyway, I'm still going to do Louisville to see if I can enjoy the central act of the show. Because what happened in America Sucked...What has happened in America Sucked... What happens in America Sucks. We know that.

BTW: My highlight was the house music. Listen to the new album XENOPHOBIA. That is the house music. (At least it was 3-2)

Anyway, back to my rant...Prince, you do not "Rise" this way. If it is your aim to build the Rainbow, work on fixing the pain. Not insulting us like we did not know people lie...or change... or hate. We listen to your music to get beyond that.

Prince, I am sorry if the things you speak of in your concerts and in Family Name are revelations to you. You have a long way to go. But please choose your path more wisely.

Prince, fams, if we are going to "rise", we have to stop beating things down.

In short, the show is decent but damaged.[/quote]

INDEED Tyme, POSITIVELY!! A well written perspective of the show.
Prince- If you must preach, at least change topics 4 each show's spoken racism/religious "Format"... Enough of Abraham Lincoln already, how about Thomas Jefferson, or Louis Farrakhan for a few lectures, and so on...
If u r "not christian or religious, but spiritual" than enough on the Bible...what about the Quabbalah?? Why not Buddhism??

Better yet, why not do what you do best...music...an extra song or 2 instead, like LAST DECEMBER, EVERYWHERE or 4 THE TEARS IN UR EYES??
"Love 4 one another is the only way"?

If the world we live in was getting the message, that all are really created equal, then i would agree with you, but since the world doesn't seem to have a clue then someone had better preach it until people get so tired of hearing it that they change, Since prince is a christian, he will tell about his beliefs, it is stupid for a christain to talk about buddism, or whatever, Now that would be stupid. For the fans that have followed him in the last year know that he is into his beliefs so you should expect it. If you are not guilty of what he is talking about then you should say Amen, please stop complaining about the Truth, Silence allowed millions of Jews to be killed in Germany, to pretend that it doesn, hasn't or will never happen again is adding to the problem and not the solution. Just my views. thanks for listening.
How you gonna get my back when you fronting.

That was a quote my friend, something Prince said at a concert a few days ago actually- I believe it was Saginaw show, he said he wasn't christian or religious, but that he was "a spiritual person", so u need to get your "Truth" straight before u accuse anyone of being as ignorant as u sound.
And no, I don't need Prince to tell me that we r created equally, and if I choose to go to church I can hear a sermon
(or just listen to u). Thanks for the history lesson- by the way, I would reconsider the teaching field. Keep believing in your "truth", and I will keep on with my open mind to all truths and wisdoms. A truth is only what u perceive it to be.
