one more louisville review.... One Night Alone....
Well after the the mishap with the presale password, i still managed to get row "c" orchestra seats. Not too bad, but it was obvious that many non-club members were seated closer than i, and in larger ticket blocks than 2. also, there were about 4-5 girls in some seats right near us who shared 2 seats the entire night, taking turns in them, and usually crowding the people around them out so that they could fit.... (not to mention yelling to each other and some girls behind me all night, smoking pot, and talking on their cell phones?!? i'll never understand why someone would talk on their cell phone at a concert.....) anyway, back to the "review" we got the The Palace about 4:45 and other NPGMC members were already there waiting. at about 5:15 they let us in and did their security check. We got out laminates by showing our tickets. No ID needed, no names checked to a list (though there *was* one there). Both myself and my fiancée got a laminate. At about 6:00 they let us into the stage area, and it was a mad dash for the front of the stage (there ain't really no need to shove people, you're gonna get to see him just the same). P and the band were doing a little jam, kind of bluesy. he made a joke to the effect of "i know all you ain't music club members". A few folks came on stage and played his guitar. he went into the intro for the cross/christ, then into Last December and asked 25 people on stage to join him. When more than that kept on coming, he said "that's enough", "uh, that's enough" but folk just kept on getting on stage. After a little jamming on stage, as the club members were getting of stage a preacher made a comment to P and it was all over from there... we got into a religious "debate". with Prince sitting in the audience and the preacher on stage with a mic. Prince was trying to steer the guy, and us into what he thought the "truth" was and what bible we should use, etc. asking a lot of questions, and talking in riddles, but never giving his answers..... there were a few jokes thrown in like when he asked what the difference between a disco club and a church with singing was, and someone said the cover was higher at a church. then security kicked us out at 7:00 so they could get ready for the show. The main show started right about at 8:00. the first time i've ever seen him "on time". we waited almost three hours in Indy a few years back, and almost an hour in Nashville on the hit'n'run tour. He started off the show different than other reports i've read, with just him and the piano, singing One Night Alone. he did his little piano medley (including a bit of purple rain) then went into the normal rainbow children/muse set list. from there it was pretty much the same as other shows, set list wise. There were a lot of blank faces in the crowd throughout the night, except when the hits were played, but i was one happy camper. i loved the chance to hear songs played live, that i'd never heard before. 1+1+1=3 was totally funky and worth every penny i paid for the show. ever since the RC download, i've wanted to hear that one live... To those that didn't like RC, the stuff works *much* better in a live environment. He did an extended version funky/bluesy version of HCYDCMA and ended with an awesome version of Anna Stesia, turning it into a funked up chant at the (extended) ending.... no afterparty announced, and that kind of dampened my spirits as after the show i was pumped and ready to go all night..... Overall, a great experience, only brought down by a few things, with which Prince and Co. had little or nothing to do with... b3studios

I didn't see my review as being "full of negatives". i only related my experience, and pointed out the things that i didn't enjoy, as well as some of the things i did. The reason i related these "negatives" is because those are what took away from a near perfect show for me. you are correct, it was a great show, from the first note, to the last, but i was just letting others know what happened. YOU ARE SO FULL OF POSITIVES..... b3studios

Question to all. Do they let babies into the concerts? I don't have babysitter for the show in Concord Pavillion.
