San Jose - June 2nd - 1st Thoughts Just got back from tonight's (Wednesday) concert. The show was different from Tuesday's show in several ways. However, the highlight was surely the long rendition of "Whole Lotta Love". Searing guitar solos and the best drum solo I've ever seen!!! No exageration needed. Great show. The sound was fine on the floor and the view was not nearly as poor as I feared (Floor 3, Row 7, Seat 7). Whole Lotta Love was also a highlight for me, as I have not seen that performed this tour. I was bummed we didn't get The ? of U. However, Live of the Party was awesome, particularly the infusion of the What Is Hip? guitar and Southwick horns ... another highlight for me. The house was on fire....I don't think I have ever heard fans scream as loud as they were screaming tonight. The hot asian girl dancing on stage with a very very short skirt and thong that was seen in the upper deck had it goingin on. All in all, fantastic. I can't wait for the Oakland show. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

June 2nd was a little different than Tuesdays show. The opening was the same. The Purple Rain songs in the beginning were and always will be fantastic. When Doves Cry and I Would 4 U brought me to tears. Both shows focal points were most definately Controversy, DMSR, Take Me With U and Purple Rain. Raspberry Beret was a hell of a lot more funkier tonight. I was very happy. Prince seemed to work the guitar solos a lot more tonight than Tuesday, which was good. The crowd participation has been so awesome both nights. I do think Tuesdays show was a bit rowdier. Another suprise was Alphabet St. The downer was not getting to hear Sometimes It Snows In April two night in a row, but what can I say? Prince gave San Jose a whole lotta love this week. Thank U! 2004ever!

Stax, I was right next to you. We were in Floor 3, Row 7, Seats 5 & 6. Last night I took my father-in-law. He was in seat 6. And yes, the Asian girl had on a black thong (as the whole audience noticed). "Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut." Ernest Hemingway

I was excited about last night. Not entirely as I wasn't sure of my NPGMC seats and the set (which I knew).
Again...completely blown away. He was always good...but both times I have seen him this year...he has been ON FIRE! Second Row right behind Renato...which was ok as there was this metal cut out of NPG behind him that created a little window so I could see perfectly. In fact Prince would sit and stand usually where I could see him on my "Prince TV" I swear to god, it looks like he's looking right at you sometimes. 2nd row was AWESOME. I had never been that close ever in a concert and it was very cool to see and not have to use any binoculars...even better cuz it was him. The music was HOT. I actually was about to go for air during I feel for you...but then Controversy came on and then Love Bizarre (actually did most of it and not just a riff...though I read the set list on HQ.com and it mentions only a first line...I thought there was more to it than that.)...couldn't leave for that air! The acoustic set was awesome. Made me laugh during Cream...just like he did on MTV. Funny, even though it's practicaly the same jokes etc...they seem sincere and spontaneous. Dayum even on acoustic guitar he sounds great...he kills it just like the electric guitar. Loved Raspberry Beret...very cool to bring the band up at that point. Certainly Dear Mr Man could do the same thing. The audience interaction was great...certainly something Madonna will not be able to do when she hits town in a few days. For 75 bucks...what a bargain...and you got a great show with killer music. Again something Madonna couldn't even begin to give you for a ticket for 300. I did miss ? of U and the beautiul ones...whole lotta love was good, but I would have prefered to hear those other songs. Oh and the Electric Blue Suit was FABOOOO! Great night.
