Well, sorry mate, no one forces you to go... I for one would loooove to go (being in Europe that somehow is out of the question), as it is one of my dreams to see Prince in a small concert venue just jamming with a tight band... 75 bucks doesn't seem that much after all, does it?? Peace

Peace Yeah, you're lucky he does these aftershows at all. How many other artists play small venues like this as an extra to the main tour? If Madonna did it she'd be charging $300 a person! At least with these shows, you can say when you're old and grey, "Yeah, I was there, only a few hundred people heard that legendary set..." Would you rather hold onto the money for a holiday or use it for a holiday of the mind?!

Are aftershows generally this expensive.. or is it just because of the area? No, in the past in LA they have been free to NPGMC members OR they were in the $25-$40 range. But, the aftershows are generally a whole different Prince than you see in his big concerts. WAY FUNKY!!! And, its almost a sure thing that there will be numerous "surprises" as far as who takes the stage with him at the HOB

are aftershows usually as long as regular concerts? i've only ever read the reports but it seems like he usually only plays for about 40 minutes to an hour or so. i don't think that's worth 75 bucks plus having to ditch my buddies. damn...i'm probably gonna have to sit it out if he does the same thing in chicago.

I'm trying to figure the logistics. Let's say the show starts at 8:30 PM. I hear it's a 2 hrs show; maybe 2.5. That takes him up to 11:30 or midnite. The HOB spam says doors open at 11:59 PM. Expect a good 40 minutes milling about waiting for Prince and band to get thru LA traffic over to Sunset (even worse on Sat nite). Let's say 20 minute to get off stage and 30 minutes travel. That's nearly an hour right there. Latest I've seen HOB go is 2 AM (maybe high prices are to accomodate staying open later than usual). So if everything is prompt and sweet aftershows could be 90 minutes to 2 hrs. Add premiums for potential guest stars and all. test

his aftershows aren't short, when i went to the one at club black after he got inducted in the RRHOF, he was on stage from like 1:30am - 3:15am, that was good timing to me. The man knows how to put on a show, concert or not... [This message was edited Wed Jun 2 14:43:51 2004 by missfee] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

After show ticket up for grabs...I manage to secure tickets for both Thursday and Saturday, I only want to go to one show so who ever did not get a chance to purchase one let me know. I'd rather go Thursday. Saturday and Sunset Blvds = Hell! I don't think he's ever played a ONE hour long aftershow! Always 2 hours or more. When I saw him at The Fillmore (even though this wasn't an aftershow) on 2/14 TM said it was supposed to start at 11:59 (like these HOB shows) but he went on at around 12:45 and didn't stop playin til about 3:20 or so

An afterhow could be as short as 1:15, not any shorter. Lotta classic aftershows fit on one CD, eh. Every now and then

Well, this is usually true. There R some things 2 think about though. U will likely hear some Sly Stone/Larry G songs. Again. Everyday People, Free, and..a few others. It would not b outrageous 2 think "Ill Take U There" will b sung by somebody. And all u fans of "The Ride" don't even think he ain't gonna play that. Of course, there's always the chance of that rare Gem..like he might finally play "Computer Blue.." "Joy In REpetition" and "Bambi" r also possibilities..but If I lived n LA, I would buy both nights, and keep my fingers crossed Of course, there's always the chance Doug E Fresh could take up 30 minutes or so...and trust me, I'd sit through 4 days of Larry Graham singing "Happy Birthday" be4 I could sit through anymore Doug E Fresh.

The aftershows are what seperates P from any of his contemporaries or proteges. This is what makes P the 1 and only. MJ can't do it!,Madonna can't do it!,Nirvana did'nt do it!,Beck don't do it! And then P goes and records a funky cd in about 7 days. RollingStones MAG top 100 Artists of all time list is flawed. P should b no lower than top 10 if not 1 if u look at the legend of P's aftershows alone! .....SuperFunkyCalifragiSexy! U,ME,WE!....2FUNKY!

Thereb are lots of aftershows that only went around an hour or so, but many have gone more than 2 hours too. There are no guarentees, but if you miss them you are a FOOL! When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I went to the aftershow in Nashville and it was 20 bucks each. It lasted about 2-2.5 hours and we got to meet and talk to Prince and the band afterwards. Prince gave me a religious pamphlet as he was leaving.
