Since I've answered a few people about this, I will just post a reply here:
there's quite a lot to choose from in and around the downtown Mpls area...on the low end of the nice hotels are the Quality Inn Suites, they are about 6-8 blocks from 1st Avenue and downtown... http://www.qualityminneapolis.com/ we have a few holiday Inns in the city, but the holiday inn express is the most reasonable. The location isn't the best as it's a short walk to anything fun. But, since the room's are cheaper this may be an okay sacrifice. http://www.ichotelsgroup....n/hd/mspdt the Hyatt is a gorgeous hotel, great location, pricey but worth it if you can afford it: http://minneapolis.hyatt....ndex.jhtml Le Meridien is our newest Fine motel. It's located in the Block E entertainment complex, ACROSS THE STREET from 1st Avenue! I don't know of anyone who's stayed there as it's on the high end, but it's supposed to be quite posh and has a location that can't be beat. Seriously, located in the heart of Mpls night life! I recommend this to any who can afford it. http://minneapolis.lemeridien.com/ Our Hilton is in a decent enough location, near many good restaraunts but not as close to the night life: http://www.hilton.com/en/...cn=MSPMHHH this website has all the listings and approximate rates on the main page to make your searching easier if the above don't work for you: http://www.hotelsbycity.c...esota.html HAPPY HUNTING! I'm happy to answer any questions or give more details about specific locations (if they are convenient, by anything, etc.) See y'all in June!

what was the name of That Hotel on top of broadway books -- on 9th and Hennepin?
was it called the fairmont? did they tear it down yet? wasn't it up for another round of $apolis gentrification? i've been outta town for some time now... oh, and don't forget the good ol' Hotel Amsterdam that is on the other side of that intersection -- right on top of the world famous Saloon...

Anyone know how far of a drive the Quality Inn is from the Xcel center? I'm thinking this is where we're going to end up staying... and I was just wondering what the drive would be like to the concert and how far it was... as long as it is managable, I am happy. Thanks guys!

Thanks guys! well, if you're talking bout the quality inn in downtown mpls, it's about a 15 minute drive to the XCel Center. it's manageable, but some of these interchanges on the highway (the whole 94/35W mess) can be a little tricky (and those damn minneapolitans who don't know how to merge can be a pain...wait a second, i guess i used to be one of them!). i would definitely stay in minneapolis, cuz no matter what day of the week it is in st. paul, that town is pretty sleepy and pretty decentralized. if you're staying downtown mpls, you'll have access to a lot more, uh, activities after the show (or even before it). and you'll be that much closer to UPTOWN -- that's where i would wanna be.

Stay in Bloomington, Sofitel. About 15 minutes from Paisley.... "A united state of mind will never be divided
The real definition of unity is 1 People can slam their door, disagree and fight it But how U gonna love the Father but not love the Son? United States of Division"

Does anyone want to share a car to get to the concerts from Minneapolis? Would it be easy to get a taxi after the show?

taxis should be easy to find...prolly cost you a bit to get back to MPLS ($20 or so) but that may be easier than renting a car...
