Ok, so this will be my first time staying in a hotel while visiting NYC, usually I stay at relatives houses in the bronx and queens, but this time, I'm going just for the PRINCE show on the 12th of July and need 'EVERYONES' help...what are some good hotels near madison square gardens?

So that me and my partner will not have to take a taxi or train to the arena!
I'm looking for a good hotel near the concert!

I don't think it is that close to MSG, but in April I stayed for a long weekend at the Holiday Inn at Broadway and 57th (I think, right around 57th anyway) for $157 a night. Not bad for NYC,the hotel is nice, and the subway is right there.
