speaking of setlists...

Does anyone know why Prince isn't singing "Most Beautiful Girl in the World" at any of his shows? I was surprised and disappointed he didn't do this one because I thought it was one of his more commercially successful songs from a little bit later in his career (and one of my favorites). I have found/read explanations as to why he didn't do some of his other popular material, but haven't seen anything about the absence of this song. I guess I'm just a little curious.

Maybe its because he wrote that song for Mayte....and he just dont feel like that anymore. I for one think this is one of Prince's worst songs so i dont mind not hearing them on tour....

TMBGITW was actually written for Nona Gaye...

Someone on the Prince M&M forum said it was written for Vanessa Marcel. Which one is correct? Anywho, I never cared for that song, so it's ok with me that he is not performing it. It would break the mood of the concert because it's so boring.

I think it was written for all the beautiful women of the world....of all colors, shapes, and sizes.

He played a half version of The Most Beautiful Girl.. in the acoustic set at the Jacksonville Show. It was Ok, but I prefer full length versions.

TMBGITW is an aweful song that has zero relevance in the big picture. That's why he didn't do it. The song is cheesy. Turning that song on during sex would be like taking your date to KFC.

Prince has a fantastic catalogue. Thanks God he's sticking to it this time around.

yeah, but madonna needs to take a hint from prince and learn how to do more than one show in a row without complaining of the "stomach flu" wink
