NASHVILLE SHOW & AFTERSHOW Hello all! The Nashville Show was bangin'! I could not have asked for more. Everyone has posted a lot on that, but as far as the aftershow is concerned, it was awesome! We walked straight to the venue (Rocketown) and were about 60th or 70th in line, I was lucky enough to be right at the stage. They sang and played a variety of songs, Larry Graham was just as energetic as ever, He sang "Higher". Prince sang a few songs, one of which was Dear Mister Man. It's so late that things are kinda fuzzy on the song titles, but there was a lot of just jammin' together, it was funky! I got to touch Larry's guitar, I shook Maceo's hand, and the other sax player Michael. I also touched the hand of Prince! anyway, I didn't take down a set list, sorry! But maybe someone else did. All I know is that this whole night feels like a dream, it was a wonderful evening, that will take a day or 2 to set in,lol. This has just been too much talent to take in I guess!! I hope that everyone that went tonight had a great time, Goodnight All and God Bless! | |

Jumping Jehovah.....let it not be so....  They first met here in Nashville on the JOTY tour at that afterparty. Guess they're just keeping the tradition alive. Jamming in the "Church Belt" at a Christian club called Rocket Town.  That's cool.I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired! | |

It was surreal (April 6, 1993, 4:20 a.m. Caberet Metro, Chicago), dream like, as if his ability to play guitar would rub off on me. I think that was the highlight more than being pulled on stage later that night by Tony M to dance on 'The Continental.' I can still feel that moment. It will never leave you. It's amazing how the human mind imprints moments in time upon our memory center. Akashic Records are talking. | |

The impression I got was this was indeed the first aftershow of the entire tour. I would venture a guess that since the tour was going on a 2 week hiatus, Prince decided to send the last show before the vacation out with a bang. And oh how big of a bang it was.
The Musicology show itself was absolutely amazing! I have been to a few Prince shows over the years and they have all been rockin' but this show had so much more energy than the others. Prince and the rest of the band seemed to be having so much fun up there and I swear the man didn't stop dancing for a millisecond. That said, as good as the concert was it was nothing compared to the Aftershow IMO. $20 for another 2 1/2 hours of Prince was more than worth my time. RocketTown was not the biggest of joints to play which made it all the better. The show was so loud and so on point that I still can't believe what I heard and saw. With guest appearances by Maceo Parker, Larry Graham, and Victor Wooten they tore threw a set of several classics by Prince and others. As best I can remember they played the following (no paticular order) I Want To Take You Higher Whole Lotta Love Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) Dolphin Dear Mr. Man Bambi Probably a couple of others as well. All of the songs were unbelievable, but the highlight was by far "Bambi". I have never seen a person own a guitar the way Prince did during "Bambi". He absolutely made the guitar obey every last command of his fingers. It was mindblowing. And to top it off, the guitar pick he used to play Bambi with was given to me right after he finished the song!  And at the very end of the aftershow he handed his guitar to about 5 of us on the front row to grope and feel the presence of a true musical GOD! I am still in complet awe of the whole evening almost a week later. | |

How did they announce the aftershow? Was it during the show? Or did the word just spread? wondering if he'll do an aftershow in vegas since he's playing two nights.... | |

They made the annoucement immediatley after the concert. Alot of people were filing out early so some may have missed it. They said something to the effect of It aint over, and it was the official Prince afterSHOW. There were several after parties so they made sure to say after show. Hope that helps. | |
