When do tickets go on sale....I got 4 upper level row 7 for the San jose Show...but Oakland is a lot closer.....

any info would be appreciated....

Probably not. Traditionally, an act will play either Oakland or San Francisco, but not both. (Unless he/she plays one first, then the other several months later on a second swing through the area.) Oakland and SF venues are pretty much down the street from each other in terms of concerts, and it's not worth it to set up in one arena, then take everything down and set up in another arena that's just a few miles away.

Over the years I've gotten the sense that acts prefer Oakland's Coliseum Arena to SF's Cow Palace, and Oakland's Stadium to SF's Candlestick Park. (Have they started doing shows in the new Pac Bell Park yet?) Oakland's facilities seem to be more concert-friendly (as opposed to the age of the Cow Palace, and the inhospitable weather of Candlestick). Though Prince has played both the Coliseum and Cow Palace over the years. But I agree with the above post that Oakland is the better site for "in-the-round."
