Hey! What kind of seats did you get? LOL. I could only afford the cheapest tickets, so my sis and I ended up with real crap for seats.. BUT.. I'm not complaining because I am so excited to JUST be going!

I got section 328, front row, seats one and two. I didnt think it was worth the extra cash to be sitting in the seats that were available on the lower level. They were near the back of the lower level and were in the middle of the isle. This way, although I am up higher, nobody is in front of me.

Luckily last time he was at Savvis, I got the front row of the first level off the floor. Again, center stage, nobody in front of me, and had a great view of the show.

Finally, my 1st post. I just signed up Monday and have been dying to post.

This will be my first Prince Concert ever. Me and my best friend are both 32 year olds and have just loved Prince since Jr High. When I heard Prince was touring, we said "We must go!" Our husbands think we are crazy! We didnt hear about the concert until after the tickets went on sale, so I got on e-bay and bought us 5th row sec E tickets. We though, hey, if we are gonna see Prince, we want to be close enough to see that ass shake! razz

We plan on having a great time! We are bummed about not getting to hear Darling Nikki (my friend's name is Nicole), or any of the nasty songs.

Just wondering what the mix of people usually are at the concert. Will a couple of thirtysomething girls like us be in the minority?

So far, no one we work with or know around home (Southern Illinois) share our love for Prince. It is nice to talk to some people who also know how great he is!

Can't wait till Cinco De Mayo!!!

Hey, not sure if we will be in St. Louis early enough, but if we are, Hard Rock sounds like a great place to get a bite to eat before the concert and get all psyched up for the big show! How old are ya'll? My freind and I are in sec E row 5, so we will be pretty close! We are staying at the Sheraton right by the Savvis Center. Both have to work the day of concert and we live about 2 hours away.

Lets see twp are 30, and the other two are 31. There is a Sheraton near the Savvis? Which one? I made reservations at the Hampton at Union Station. We will be arriving around 3, I have to work until noon. We are driving from 3 hours away in Missouri.

We are both 32. The Sheraton is fairly new. It used to be an old building and they re-did it inside and it is supposed to be very nice (my sister just stayed there a couple of weeks ago when she saw Alan Jackson & Martina McBride at the Savvis Center) She said you just walk across the street and you are there. I believe it is the closest hotel to the Savvis. We got a rate on Sheraton's website for $127 (not too great, but most St. Louis hotels are usually atleast $100 bucks). My sister said there is a parking garage in the bottom floors of the building and only people staying there can park there. When you pull in, they have your name on a list if you are staying there. I figured we could park there and not have to worry about driving anymore for the night.

What are you guys wearing to the concert? We can't quite decide. Can you belive it is just about 2 weeks away?

We're gonna party like it's 1999 (well, maybe not, I was pregnant in 1999- ha ha )

We are partying the next two weekends to celebrate. We are having "Prince parties" I saw the Sheraton web site. Where do you live?

We are from West Frankfort, Illinois. We grew up with Prince too. I can't remember if we first started listening to prince in late grade school, but we were obsessed by Jr. High. If our mothers only knew what filthy language we were singing with our "walkmans"! My mom wouldn't let me see Purple Rain when it came out at the movies, but my friend got to go with another friend and her mom. I was sooooo jealous. I eventually saw it, and thought it was the greastest thing ever!

My name is Leslie and my friend's name is Nicole. We are trying to get off work a half day on Wednesday so we can get to St. Louis early and a half day on Thursday so we don't have to get up super early to get back to work. She had no problem getting off, but I'm a Pharmacist and have to find another RPh to work 2 half-days in my place so that I can be off.

I though about purple hair, but I don't think I would look very good that way. We are definately going with purple of some kind. I think purple shirts and purple feathered boas (if we can find some). You can tell the Purple Rain era was our favorite!
I'm probably more of a fan than her, but she goes along with whatever crazy plan I have. "Hey let's spend a fortune for tickets on e-bay", "okay".

Where are you all from? Did you all go to school together? We have been best friends since 3rd grade. We have a couple of other friends we tried to convince to come with us, but they were not as die-hard as us. I feel like we are re-living our childhood. I'm sure we will act like lunatics!

This is mine and my sis' first Prince concert too! YAY for us! Totally excited about it all.

She is 34 and I am 19.

I have to wait til' she gets off work and gets to the apartment before I can head over to Union Station.. So, if you all do something before 3 or 4, I most likely will not be able to meet up with ya... but.. don't plan according to me! It would be great to meet you all, but my sister's schedule is so scattered, we still don't know what all is goinng on for sure. BUT> I will do what I can.

Hard Rock sounds the best to me.

Yeah... so I had this whole detailed plan to make a really cute shirt... with the iron on transfers and such.. but in order for that to work, you must have a 50/50 shirt.. on top of that, the transfers are for dark colors only.. AND apparently, no store (not even WAL MART) carries dark shirts made out of 50/50 material anymore! BAH! So, I had to scrap that. Now, I am planning on wearing jeans, my big-ass heeled boots (I'm super short), a brown bell-sleeved shirt, and my new hat. Usually I wear my hair gelled since it is naturally curly, but since I am wearing my new hat, I am going to straighten it and spray glitter in it. So, yeah. That's what I am wearing.

Hard Rock will be great. It will be sometime after 4 I would assume before we start our partying. We have to check into our hotel then get ready. There are four of us. Me (Dena), Jenni, Carrie and Amber. None of us grew up together but have been good friends for a few years now. They are from Missouri and I am from Oklahoma. I am going to do the purple hair thing and who knows what we are wearing. Carrie and I are the die hards of the group and we just can't believe that we are going to see Prince.

I suppose that we will try to find something to do after the concert, unless there is an after party. Anyone heard anything about that? It is Cinco de Mayo, so I am sure there will be lots to do. The Hard Rock will be a great meeting place! Let's do it and I have a recipe for a "purple rain" if any of you care to have one of those while we are there. I am sure the bartended can whip them up for us!!!!

Hey, I think I have had that drink before. When my husband and I went to Jamaica on our honeymoon, I saw the waitress carrying a tray of beautifull purple frozen drinks. I asked what they were, they said "purple rain". It had Blue Curaco, pineapple juice, rum, and grenadine and ice. Does that sound like the drink you were talking about? It was an awesome drink!

If everyone can make it maybe we could try and meet at the Hard Rock at a designated time (maybe 5:00). That would give us a couple of hours to eat and drink etc... before heading over to concert.

Then if someone doesn't make it, no big deal.

The Hampton Inn is easily in walking distance from Savvis. The Sheraton is directly accross the street, and from the one time I stayed there, the rooms are nice and the beds are HUGE!

Anyhow, if the price scares you off, you may want to try Embassy Suites down on Lacledes Landing and take the Metro up to the show. Not a bad ride, only about 5-10 minutes, and the metro is VERY clean and safe. If you are REALLY wanting to save some money, stay on the Illinois side and ride the Metro. Takes a bit longer, but you can get a room for under $50.00. They arent SHERATON quality, but nice hotels within a 30 minute train ride away.

I will try to get to the Hard Rock, but remember, its CINCO DE MAYO, so things may be overcrowded.

If anybody from out of town needs more specific hotel info or hints, shoot me an Email realdealmbp@yahoo.com

ALso, if you are mid to late 30s most of the crowd is in your age range, but, when I saw Prince last time he was at Savvis Center, I was amazed at how truely diverse the crowd is. Every type of demographic you could imagine!

Can you make reservations at Hard Rock? If it IS possible, then I think someone should set that up...

... my friends and I went to eat at Hard Rock before the Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson concert, we were there 2 hours before doors opened, and they told us it would be AT LEAST and hour and a half before we could get seated... They were SO crowded! We figured that it would put us behind if we stayed, so we opted for Union Station instead.. had to get inside early enough to buy goodies and such...

So, just something to keep in mind. But, if for some reason we all end up getting there at funky times and are split up, I'll just keep a look out for some purple hair and boas! LOL! I might get a boa too... it wouldn't go with my outfit, but what the hell!

Unfortunately you cannot make reservations at the HRC. I am not sure how busy Maggy O'brien's will be, but that has more room than the HRC. And, a nice bar as well.

It is basically beside union station, and has a patio as well. That might be a better place to get together, since they have more room.

On Hard Rock's website, you cannot make a reservation, but it says you can make a Priority Seating Request online up to 30 days in advance for up to 15 people and you will be given the next available table. I signed us up for a table of 15 (just in case more people show up) at 5pm. So, maybe that will help us out! I just put it under my name Leslie Shoraga, so I guess we can all just meet there. smile

Sounds great Leslie! I was going to suggest that we do the priority seating thing. There will be four of us so count us in. We may be running a little late or early, who knows. Yes it is Cinco de Mayo so maybe we can all hang out after the show as well.

Our seats are in sec f rows 4 and 5 so...we will be close.....COOL!!!! 14 days until PRINCE!!!!!

I was excited to read the post from the "first timers" who will be attending the concert in StLouis.I have been fortunate enough to have been following P for many years and have seen probably about 20 shows but it is still exciting. It would be nice to connect with other fans in the St Louis area as sometimes it can be a bit lonely.I will be somewhere down close in the "real freaks" section as i got tickets through the npgmc.I hope that I can see. Did any of you attend the opening night showing at The Mills Theater? well if anyone would like to connect with other St Louis folks drop me a note.I hope that the show is all that you are anticipating it will be.I know that you pharmacists know how to party as I also work in a hospital setting.have fun and get yo grooves on.

4everyours- you are welcome to join our table at the Hard Rock. I got priority seating for 15 at 5pm, so anyone that wants to join us, the more the merrier. Me and my friend are 2, I think girlzrfun have 4, frutyg I think has 2, not sure if BigBaldRon is a party of 1 or 2, so that is only about 9 or 10 total. So we still have plenty of room for anyone who wants to join in!
