Biloxi Concert Report

Hello all!

Once again the Purple One has done it again! The concert was great, the band is hot and the mood is of Purple Rain proportions. I am not going to bore peeps with a set list. NPG reports have that well documented. But instead, I am going to come from a different angle----The little quirks that need attention. Here we go!

1) Dont think that because your're on the first three rows next to the stage that you'll have great seats.Tmo1965 and I were on the 1st row and had vision blocked by John Blackwell's drum set. I talked to many fams around the stage and most agreed that with the"round" approach, being the closest is not the best. The stage is about 6' off the floor(band and staff can and will go underneath it) and posses an issue with fams <6ft tall. The same was said around Renato's keyboard section as well. It seems to me, that being a little distance from the stage(floor seats) or in the traditional arena seats were a better option for maximum viewing.

2) Security personnel stopped fams from dancing in the aisles. I did not have that issue but several fams talked about it. I believe NPG reports state the same. Hey Prince, remember the old days when u told us to get up and dance---

3) The length of the concert. The Biloxi show started around 8:35pm and was over around
10:22pm. Hey wait a minute. That is less than 2 hours. Other shows have been about 2 1/2 hours. I have no reason why this occured.

4) Not knowing a song can embarrass one in front of thousands. After allowing fams from the crowd to get on stage and dance, Prince started playing Take Me With You. After completing a verse, Prince put the mic in the face of blonde beauty---She Did NOT know the next line. Prince pulled the mic from her and turned his head as he made one funny, bewildered looking face expression. Note to all fams---Dont go on stage UNLESS you know the songs. Shaking boobs and butt just dont get it.

5) The After-Party----There was none. Some cities get them--some dont. We didnt.

6) The Silver Arch---If you happen to be sitting in front of the arch--great. That seemed to be the unofficial front of the stage. Prince spent a great deal of time in that area. He did migrate to all parts of the stage, but he obviously preferred the silver arch(must be a magnet)

Anyway, that is all for now. Tmo1965 and I will be at the Bossier City concert as well.

Take care all and be safe!!

Are you serious? What's wrong with dancing in front of your seat? Of course they have good reason to keep the aisles clear.

Birmingham was about 2 hours and 10 minutes. I doubt that many shows (if any) have been 2 1/2 hours or longer.

Anyway, good report and I agree that the in-the-round stage setup sucks if you have floor seats. That's why I didn't buy a ticket for a show for this tour....just ain't worth it to look at Prince's back much of the time.

You're just jealous 'cause he didn't pick you.
