raleigh after party The concert was absolutely great!!! the after party was rough. prince and the band came in
about 1am. they then put on the dvd of last nights show on the clubs tv screens. it was kinda weird watching the show again after just leaving it. I hope he releases the dvd, awesome sound and picture quality. he and the band hung out in vip while the crowd pushed and pushed and pushed trying to get a view. that part sucked big time and my wife and I left before I punched somebody.

I'll second that! It would be great to have a DVD of the show you attended. Have they ever done this? One can only hope, I guess..... [This message was edited Sat Apr 24 19:12:39 2004 by eddard]

I didn't make it to the after party... I knew it would be ri-dayum-diculous trying to roll up in there. We got stuck at the RBC center a long time just trying to get a t-shirt.
But I'll tell you what folks... I almost cried when the show ended. I absolutely, positively must see that again. And with the announcement of another show being added on Sat Aug 14th in DC. I WILL!! ROAD TRIP ANYONE??

That concert.....was the best one I've been to!!!!! The Raleigh show was OFF THE HOOK!!! And it was quite emotional towards the end, so much so that Purple Rain had me in tears. GREAT SHOW!!! Afterwards I drove by The Office for the "afterparty" but the line was way too long and I was really skeptical about the number of people actually gettin in. Glad i didn't wait in line now. I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

The afterparty was worth the $10 to watch almost the entire show again on DVD
I had a space with nobody around me and I had my earplugs - it was all good. Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

I thought the afterparty would probably not be worthwhile. Glad I went over and saw The Corey Parker Band (Maceo's son). They were too funky. It was cool to see Greg Boyer from the NPG play on a couple songs. Oh and the opening band was a Michael Jackson cover band that absolutely kicked butt!! They were called "Who's Bad". Imagine taking MJ hits and turning them into extended funk-jazz-lounge workouts. ~And even when I'm right, I'll be wrong...it's Automatic too.

I know I would (buy it)! I do know that at one of the JOTY concerts back in 1997 (Charlotte, Greensboro or Raleigh, NC...brainlapse...don't remember which /went to all 3), a postcard was given out that offered the concert VHS (or DVD) for sale...I mailed it in...but never heard anything else about it. Hmmmm...anyone know if there is a way to get this concert (Musicology: Raleigh) on DVD?
