IMO it is not guitar heavy from Prince. OK, maybe he plays more solos, but several of them are on a strat... and personally I HATED seeing him with an "off the rack" guitar. Except for the Hohner (which has that "back in the day" vibe) I refer the clouds and symbols to regular guitars. Prince just looks a little pedestrian and frankly goofy with the strat, IMO.

And he really doesn't do anything all that interesting w/ the whammy which is presumably why he's playing the strat. His finger vibrato is more than adequate.

So I guess to answer the original question there are a few guitar solos but overall from a guitar playing perspective only I prefered ONA when he was the only guitar player on stage and played all night long. That ROCKED. Having Prince playing fonky rhythm guitar all night was the BOMB! OH, and the version of ANNA STESIA on that tour he played on Habibi...

GOOD LAWD!! Blew my head clean *OFF*!!

Well..I didn't attend the ONA tour but I've been to several others and it seems to me he's playing more guitar on this tour. But that's just my opinion.
I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

I agree with Steam. I think he's playing more guitar because he's eliminated the piano medley's and are doing them with the acoustic guitar instead.

Renato has taken over completely on keyboards.

But, that's my opinion.
