spreading some positivity on Columbia concert & NPGMC seating

I just got back from Columbia,SC concert & yes! it was awesome!it was a homecoming for John B. he & Prince & the whole crew gave a fantastic performance to the delight of the crowd there.Maceo was there & performed outstanding as usual.I would like to describe my experience with purchasing tickets from the NPGMC-1st on the first presale date i didn't order tickets till late in the afternoon(i forgot the 10a.m. start time) so when i went to the will call boxoffice to pick up my tickets(after reading on here so many bad stories & experiences) i didn't expect much.the will call opened at 5:30 p.m. & i didn't get there till 6:30p.m.I handed the girl there my ID & the credit card i used & she said i will be right back & went to get my tickets -she came back & handed them to me & i thanked her and started to walk away then i noticed the seat #'s-FRONT ROW seats #3 & 4 & i couldn't believe it!i then looked on the seating chart to see what section i was in & tryed to find out if i was behind the drums, the piano/organ or which was the front of the stage-but the girl didn't know-so i still wasn't expecting much.I walked then through the ticket taking area & the girl tearing looked at my ticket # & kinda shook her head in disbelief & smiled & handed back to me.I then headed for the area to get to the floor seats & once there i saw i was seated right next to the drums & close to one ramp & in shouting distance of another-still i didn't know how well this would go off on seeing Prince & everybody.I sat there with my friend & talked to a few of our neighbors -waiting for the show to begin. once everybody got on stage -i was standing along with everybody in the house & realized how AWESOME! my seats were!-i saw everything -including some conversation between my friend & sax player mike phillips-you see my friend is a profession sax player & to my surprise they worked together less than 2 years ago together!that was really nice & then to see Maceo along with him & Candy was great-the whole show rocked & for the 1st time ever going to any concert(i've seen alot of the greats) i felt like part of the show -i'll finish now by thanking Prince & all of the NPG members for giving me the best concert experience ever & show, thanks to the great crowd-that made me proud to be a Prince fan & a special thanks to the NPGMC for setting me up in great seats to enjoy this special experience

Right On! I'm glad to hear that it was the best show ever. I grew-up in SC and saw my only Prince show on the Lovesexy tour in 1988. I've seen many concerts from many bands, but his was still the best.

My second show will be here in Seattle.

Peace.

Hey Neighbor! Great review! It was great to meet other members. I would like to add that I got my tickets the minute the presale started. So, it is completely random! Fun times... Atlanta, here I come!

I saw Prince at the Gorge in 1994 (?). It is a beautiful venue. And he was HOOOTTTT. I think this was when he had started doing the lounge lizard like review of the slow jams. I remember pinching my friend's arm superhard and she didn't notice. I looked at her and she was in a trance. He was so mesmerizing it was incredible. What a performer. He also commented that it was one of the most beautiful stadiums he'd played in. kinda like Red Rocks...also commented that it was cold as a witch's t!t. only when he stopped playing tho.

Tell me something re: Seattle: can u still get fried chicken at the gas station? I thought that was the bee's knees. That and picking berries of the side of the freeway...and going to the projects that sat on a lake! (I know they've since torn that down.)
